Subduing all under your power, reducing all enemies and obstacles to dust, I prostrate to the one who tames the Maras and enemies! Hūṃ! I praise and entreat you, in this degenerate age of the five defilements, even in the evil places where you have gone and reside, in order to protect the Buddha's teachings, to establish sentient beings in happiness, and to fulfill the hopes of us practitioners, I offer these common and supreme offerings to you. Please, with compassion, deign to come, and swiftly arrive at this place with your retinue, considering with your compassion! Thus summoned. You who possess the power and ability to protect the Buddha's teachings, glorious Mahākāla (Great Black One) with your retinue, in order to subdue all Māras and obstacles, and to slay all fierce enemies and obstructors, please abide firmly and immovably in this supreme abode of the great wrathful palace, and perform your activities! Oṃ Vajra Mahākāla Samaya Tiṣṭha Lhaṃ. Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ Padma Kamala Ye Staṃ. Oṃ Vajra Mahākāla Sapariwara Arghaṃ Pratīccha Svāhā. Puṣpe. Dhūpe. Āloke. Gandhe. Naivedye. Śapta offering. Wisdom Protector with your retinue, remember your former vows, do not break the command of Vajradhara, do not abandon the vows of the Three Jewels, do not cut off the speech of the mantra holders. If you transgress your vows, the supreme heart of all Buddhas of the three times, this blazing Vajra, will undoubtedly destroy you and your retinue! Oṃ Vajra Mahākāla Samaya Hana Hana Hūṃ Phet. With the rays of light from your heart, invite the five Jinas (Victorious Ones), may they empower you with the nectar vase, filling your body, purifying impurities, and from the remaining water overflowing upwards, may the chief one be adorned with Hevajra (Joyful Vajra) Lhankyé (Spontaneous Coemergence), and the retinue be adorned with the Wisdom Protector himself. Mixing milk with pure water, I offer the pleasing offering water. Oṃ Vajra Mahākāla Arghaṃ Pratīccha Svāhā. Blending sandalwood and musk, I offer the pure washing water to cleanse your body. Pādya… Even the Bodhisattvas abiding on the ten bhūmis (grounds), with a wrathful demeanor blazing like fire, cut off the enemies and obstructors who hate the teachings. I prostrate to the Protector and his retinue! Hūṃ! For the sake of drinking blood, I offer this libation of a thousand kinds of blood, to the Protector and his retinue.
