If one can subdue even a single city, what need to mention more? This is what is being referred to. The second is: root mantra, heart mantra, near-heart mantra, seed mantra, or those that are sequentially established as the mantras of body, speech, mind, and wisdom. In the Hundred Thousand Verses, it says: 'The root mantra transforms into the body, the heart mantra is called powerful speech, likewise, the near-heart mantra is said to be the mantra of mind, what is called the wisdom seed is said to be the wisdom mantra.' For example: Asta root mantra, Deva Pitsu and the four others are heart mantras, Vajra Karta is the near-heart mantra, and the seed mantras of the five Buddha families and the fifteen yoginis. The third is the blessing mantra, such as Om Ah Hum, etc. The fourth is the activity mantra, Torma is the (mantra) for all activities, land purification is the (mantra) for protection. Furthermore, in this chapter, there are seven such as disturbing cities, causing stiffness, Kuru Kulle, raining, cutting off, Vajra Kila, destroying deities, fever, hailing, summoning girls, holding the sun and moon, Vajra Karma, elephant, tiger, badger, snake, causing dogs to flee, etc. Twenty-four activities are explicitly stated. Among them, raining and cutting off are pacifying, Vajra Kila is destroying the enemy's forces, which is wrathful, causing stiffness, destroying, fever, and hailing are increasing, summoning women and holding the sun and moon are magnetizing, Pra is magnetizing, and causing elephants to flee and the five others are expelling. From the perspective of oral instructions, activities become immeasurable. Fourth is the combination of kings. 'Om Ah Ka Tsa Ta Ta Pa Ya Sha Svaha, this is the mantra for disturbing cities.' This indicates that the vowels such as A, the divisions (consonants), and the final syllable are all said to be the city, and disturbing it through the power of elements and karma depends on knowing the guru's oral instructions. In the Commentary on the Heart Sutra, it says: 'Om Ah Ka Tsa Ta Ta Pa Ye Sha Svaha,' this is the direct meaning. The ultimate meaning is that Akuha is to be separated, and from the 'chapter on collecting mantras,' it is to be understood from the guru's oral instructions.' This shows that for those who lack such oral instructions, recitation is difficult to obtain results and becomes affliction. In the Hundred Thousand Verses, it says: 'For the recitation from books, for those who abandon oral instructions, those who strive to practice, they only increase affliction.' Therefore, the oral instruction is called the combination of kings, because it is the mantra spoken by the Buddha, and it combines with whatever activity is desired.
