Just as a lotus is unstained by mud, may I and others be unstained by the defilements of the three realms, be liberated from the lotus of existence, and be born in the Land of Great Bliss! How is the body of the Tathagata, how are your retinue, the measure of your life, and your pure land? How is your excellent and supreme name? May I and others become just like that! Thus, this is the aspiration prayer for the pure land of Amitabha, the Immovable Buddha. Urged by the great yogi Chögyal Phakpa Sonam Gyaltsen, whose inner yoga power has greatly increased and all artificial constructs have ceased, the learned monk Pema Karpo extracted and compiled this from the hundred thousand categories of the Dharma in the 'Arya Ratnakuta Sutra'. Thus, after making aspirations like those for the Land of Great Bliss, one should engage in practice. These are the words for the practice retreat. May the essence of the Victorious One's teachings, the stainless Drukpa Kagyu teachings, flourish, through the truth of the masters of all lineages, the root and lineage lamas, the yidams of the mandala who grant supreme siddhis, the dakinis and protectors who dispel all obstacles, and all the white-sided protectors of the Dharma! May the teachings of the glorious Drukpa flourish, with the root of discipline firm like a wish-fulfilling tree, the branches flourishing with samadhi, and the fruits of wisdom ripening! May the teachings of the glorious Drukpa flourish, expounding the myriad doctrines of good speech without confusion, silencing opponents with the lion's roar of debate, and sounding the drum of composition with ornaments of words and meanings! May the teachings of the glorious Drukpa flourish, having heard much of the scriptures of reasoning and realization, gathering clouds of thought for investigation and analysis, and practicing diligently within! May the teachings of the glorious Drukpa flourish, with the four truths subduing the habits of arising, the ocean of profound and vast sutras, and the stories adorned with the Ketaka of Abhidharma! May the teachings of the glorious Drukpa flourish, with the pure ground of individual liberation, the sprout of bodhicitta growing luxuriantly, and the seeds of the path of liberation ripening! In supreme places and so forth, Samantabhadra's (ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ་, सर्वभद्र, Sarvabhadra, All Good) wisdom constantly abides, Victorious in all directions, the conduct is perfected, glorious Drukpa lineage. The wonder of the body is like an immortal tree, the vajra speech is secret, pleasing like the sound of Brahma. The stainless mind is boundless like the sky, glorious Drukpa lineage. The wisdom of knowledge is vast like the path of the gods, the clouds of loving compassion move. The rain of saving power satisfies all beings, glorious Drukpa lineage. Scholars strike the drum of the Dharma like swans, accomplished ones stand tall on the snowy mountains like lions. The chariot of activity carries the great burden of the teachings, glorious Drukpa lineage. Seeing delusion and liberation as non-dual, attaining the supreme vajra state in one lifetime. Filling the supreme realm of Akanishta (འོག་མིན་, अकनिष्ट, Akaniṣṭha, The Highest), glorious Drukpa lineage. Although having attained Buddhahood with the perfection of abandonment and wisdom, compassionately caring for beings with impartial compassion. As long as space exists, effortlessly benefiting beings, glorious Drukpa lineage. Having attained the supreme accomplishment of the true path, proclaiming the supreme Dharma sound in the midst of the snowy mountains. Making clear the essence of the practice lineage, may the teachings of the glorious Drukpa flourish! The words of the Omniscient Lord. The words of the Omniscient Lord. In this excellent teaching monastery, a gathering of clear-minded oceans. Gathered like bees to a great lotus, mastering and studying all the teachings of the Victorious Ones, glorious Drukpa lineage. The supreme teachings of the Sugata (བདེ་གཤེགས་, सुगत, Sugata, Gone to Bliss) Buddha are like an ocean, like a string of clouds proclaiming the sweet sound of the Druk. May all vast lands be filled by the rain of explanation and practice, increasing daily! May the three vows always accompany like the light of day, and the fragrance of hearing, thinking, and meditating fill the spring. May the chief of the lotus of the upholders of the teachings fill all vast lands. May the rivers of gain and honor flow, and may the source of precious benefit and happiness arise. May the new Dharma wheel and the new glory fill all vast lands! In this source of the lotus gathering, may all the leaders of the wise and accomplished swans gather.
