From the union, there are twenty unions including boundaries. The third is merit, from the merit of what the Buddha thinks and knows, to the merit of accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, there are twenty. The fourth is fault, from obtaining with great difficulty, to generating joy that is not as it is, there are forty-six works of Mara. The fifth is the fruit with characteristics, including the characteristic of knowledge, the characteristic of excellence, the characteristic of action, and the nature of what is interpreted, four kinds. First, the union that interprets all kinds of wisdom is established as the characteristic of knowledge, among which: In terms of the three divisions of omniscience itself, first, in terms of knowing everything, there are sixteen kinds, namely the knowledge of the appearance of the Tathagata and so on, sixteen kinds. In terms of the path knowledge, there are sixteen kinds such as knowing emptiness. In terms of all-knowing wisdom, there are sixteen kinds such as abiding by relying on the Dharma of Suchness. The second is the characteristic of excellence, that is: In general, in order to know the differences of those who are completely analyzed in the form of knowledge, the characteristics of the differences are shown thereafter. Those who have the realm of truth are those who see the realm of the Four Noble Truths. The so-called 'excellent entry' refers to surpassing from the Sravakas and so on. What is the excellent Dharma? That is, the sixteen kinds of differences such as the inconceivable. What becomes excellent? That is, the differences of the sixteen moments of forbearance and knowledge. What is the function of the third excellent characteristic? That is, eleven kinds such as future benefits. The fourth is the characteristic of self-nature, that is: the self-nature known through the characteristic of the agent shows the sixteen kinds of self-nature such as the self-nature that is far from afflictions such as attachment, and thus the three unions of omniscience itself are interpreted as they are, so it is self-nature. The sixth is the part conforming to liberation. For those who possess the root of virtue conforming to liberation, because they can fully know the union as mentioned before, it is declared. The Dharma of the Buddha, such as giving with the aspect of wisdom that focuses on the absence of characteristics, arises in one's own mind, therefore the perfection of wisdom that is skilled in true accomplishment. In terms of the characteristics of skillful means, the accumulation path of the Great Vehicle is particularly excellent. Because there is no wisdom and skillful means, the Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas become inferior. The wise should also have faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fifth, it is accomplished through approaching. Seventh, decisive-part conformity: Because of the arising of joy that conforms to the part of liberation, the part that conforms to decisive discrimination will inevitably arise. Therefore, it is guided uprightly by ten kinds of minds, and the explanation from the decisive branch to the twelve branches is given. Eighth, the assembly of non-returning learners: Starting from the decisive branch, the Bodhisattva who abides in the path of seeing and meditation, because of the absence of inherent existence, retreats from phenomena such as form, etc., for twenty reasons. Abiding in the decisive branch, the sign of non-returning is that one retreats from perceiving phenomena such as form, etc., as empty of their own characteristics. Abiding in the path of seeing in sixteen ways is a sign of non-returning. After that, the sign of non-returning while abiding in the path of meditation is stated. Moreover, because special wisdom does not arise without grasping the distinctions, the distinctions are explained. The path of meditation is profound, and the place called 'profound' is emptiness, etc., because it possesses that. What exactly is the path of meditation that possesses distinctions? It is repeatedly contemplating the object of the decisive branch, the path of seeing, and the path of meditation itself with the wisdom of the nature of hearing; measuring with the nature of thinking; and definitely ascertaining with the nature of meditation, or contemplating with the application of samadhi, the actual measuring, and the subsequent definite ascertainment. That path of meditation is continuous. These are small, medium, and large. The small also has small of the small, medium of the small, and large of the small. Likewise, the medium has three, and the large has three. In the ultimate sense, in the manner of the essence of emptiness, in the nine grounds such as the desire realm, as an antidote to abandoning the great afflictions, etc., there are nine aspects. Here, the Bodhisattva's afflictions are the conceptual thoughts to be abandoned by meditation. For example, very great darkness is dispelled by a small light, and a small light is dispelled by a great light. In short, countless small conceptual thoughts, measurable medium conceptual thoughts, and immeasurable large conceptual thoughts are gathered. In the nine grounds, likewise, by abiding in emptiness, etc., as an antidote, in the ultimate sense, there is no distinction from the path of meditation, while in the conventional sense, it is explained that they are distinguished in relation to turning back. The self-arising of a Bodhisattva who abides in such a path of meditation is a profound and very profound Dharma nature, and there are eight aspects. Ninth, the Sangha of non-learners meditates on samsara and nirvana as equality. The noble one said: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
