If someone says, 'I have not renounced.' then one should ask, 'How did you renounce now?' If he says, 'I have now renounced,' then one should ask, 'Have you practiced pure conduct well?' He should say, 'I have practiced well.' 'What is your name?' 'Also, before the all-knowing one (kunnkhyenbu, the all-knowing one), how did you renounce according to the ritual at the abbot (mkhan po, preceptor) when requesting full ordination, and receive the novice vows from the master (slob dpon, instructor)?' Because in order to verify whether the current renunciation is true or false, one must ask the name of the abbot, therefore it is not appropriate to mention the name of the abbot who is requested for full ordination, but rather to say the name of the abbot from the previous renunciation, which is meaningful. What is the name of the abbot? He says, 'My name is this.' For the sake of meaning, one should say the name, 'The name of my renunciation abbot is this.' One should say this. 'O fortunate one, listen. Such kinds of physical diseases occur in the bodies of people, such as: leprosy, boils, large boils, hard boils, eye diseases, multiple boils until they ulcerate, small wounds, vitiligo, ringworm, scabies with pus, itching without pus, blisters arising from itching, athlete's foot, burns, wasting disease, wasting disease, memory loss due to disturbance of wind, bile, and phlegm, manifestations of being possessed by spirits, forgetfulness, hunger disease, leucoderma where the skin turns white, leg disease, perforation of the genitals causing urine and feces to pass through the same passage, general epidemics, severe epidemics, one-day fever, two-day fever, three-day fever, four-day fever, combined fever, epidemics that occur and persist every day, chronic epidemics, recurring epidemics, scabies, indigestion, belching, phlegm, breathing difficulties, swelling, pain in the limbs, undigested lumps, diseases caused by blood disorders, diseases similar to bile disorders, sores in the anus, nausea, anorexia, urinary disease with urinary retention, fatigue even without exertion, fever, fever in the ribs, pain in the bones.' These are the diseases of the body. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Do you not have these or other similar things on your body?’ He should answer, ‘No.’ ‘Venerable one, listen! These questions that I am asking you now, I will ask in the Sangha. There too, you should not be afraid, say ‘yes’ to what is true, and answer ‘no’ to what is not. Do not come until you are called.’ This is the secret instruction. After that, the monk giving secret instructions stands next to the elder, with palms joined, and says: ‘Please listen, Sangha of venerable ones. 7-36 I, (name), whose Khenpo (亲教师, personal teacher) is (name), have secretly inquired whether he has any obstacles to becoming a Bhikshu, and if he says that he has completely purified these obstacles, then what about it?’ Everyone should say, ‘If it is completely purified, then it is good.’ If they say so, then it is good. If they do not say so, it will become a serious offense.’ This is the ceremony of requesting to come. This is the ceremony of appointing the secret instructor. Then, have him prostrate three times each to the teacher and the Sangha. On the seat, spread a cushion on the grass mat, pressing down with both heels. Squat down, join palms. The officiant says: ‘The Bhikshu vows arise from the Sangha. Therefore, it is necessary to request the Sangha, so please repeat after me.’ The way this request manifests is in accordance with Buton Rinpoche (布敦仁波切) and others, and the tradition of the Lower Vinaya. Kunchen’s (全知者, Omniscient one, referring to Longchenpa) own ‘Great Commentary on the Pratimoksha’ etc. are also in agreement. However, in this granting ritual, the ceremony based on the following request is in accordance with the tradition of the Upper Vinaya.’ The Sanskrit is ‘Acharya, please.’ ‘Please listen, Sangha of venerable ones. I, (name), call myself by name for the sake of (purpose). 7-37 I, (name), whose Khenpo is (name), request to receive Bhikshu vows from the Sangha, I, (name), call myself by name for the sake of (purpose), I, (name), whose Khenpo is (name), request to receive Bhikshu vows from the Sangha, please Sangha grant me Bhikshu vows, please Sangha help me, please Sangha accept me, please Sangha teach me, compassionate Sangha, for the sake of compassion, please treat me with compassion.’ First time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
