Therefore, there is no destiny to be completely liberated from suffering. The benefit of guarding is the arising of all the qualities of the Mahayana. The third is the Samaya of Vidyadhara Mantra. The definition of the Samaya of Vidyadhara Mantra is: the discipline of body, speech, and mind being bound as the nature of profound skillful means and wisdom. Among the Paramita Vehicle, Action Tantra, Yoga Tantra, and Maha Yoga Tantra, the Father Tantras are all in accordance with skillful means and the conventional truth, and wisdom is in accordance with the ultimate truth. However, the Paramita Vehicle mainly emphasizes considering giving and other skillful means as accumulations of merit. The Vajrayana mainly emphasizes meditating on deities, reciting mantras, and performing mudras, which is the difference between them. In the Yoga Mother Tantras, these conventional truths are regarded as emptiness or wisdom, and the ultimate truth is regarded as skillful means or compassion. The later Mantra system also explains the levels of practitioners in terms of how much they can practice, from subtle to coarse. Just as the four classes of tantras are divided, vows or samayas are also divided into different categories. 'Binding oneself' means combining the three doors with inseparable skillful means and wisdom. This protects the mind, hence it is called 'Mantra'. As the Compendium says: 'Man (藏文:མན་,梵文天城体:मन्,梵文罗马拟音:man, meaning: mind) is called the mind, and tra (藏文:ཏྲ་,梵文天城体:त्र,梵文罗马拟音:tra, meaning: protect) means to protect.' Therefore, the spoken vow is the samaya. The samaya of all Buddhas is: 'E-vam (藏文:ཨེ་ཝཾ,梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evam, meaning: thus) is completely abiding, and is correctly known from empowerment.' And the form of E-vam (藏文:ཨེ་ཝཾ,梵文天城体:एवं,梵文罗马拟音:evam, meaning: thus) is: 'The part of E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,meaning: E) is beautiful, and the middle is adorned with vam (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vam, meaning: vam), which is the abode of all bliss.' As it is said, this is the essence of emptiness and compassion from all the Mahayana teachings. Gyalwang Rinpoche said: 'From the aspect of restraining what is discordant, it is samaya; from the aspect of not transgressing what is concordant, it is vow.' For those who engage in ascetic practices, liberation from vows and samayas means liberation from the names of what is to be guarded and what is to be accomplished, but it does not mean abandoning one's own nature. Because, 'knowing that great vow', the Buddha is also described as possessing this vow. If someone asks: 'Then, wouldn't it be no different from the Madhyamikas who believe that the path is the inseparability of skillful means and wisdom?' The answer is: what they say about the Vehicle of the Cause is that in meditation, wisdom is combined, and after meditation, one engages in compassionate actions such as giving. This is merely to express the union of meditation and post-meditation. But here, meditation itself... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the time of (ultimate) wisdom, not abandoning the means; at the time of subsequent attainment (conventional), not abandoning wisdom. Therefore, it can be distinguished like ice and water, 'This is the means, this is the wisdom,' but even when distinguishing, they are inseparable, which is their special feature. Therefore, the meditator who possesses all the supreme aspects of Mahamudra (Tibetan: རྣམ་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་མཆོག, literally: the most excellent of all forms) is a superior being. It should not be thought that there is a difference only to that extent, because both Sutra and Tantra, after attaining the Mahayana Path of Seeing, agree in uniting all dharmas into one. Moreover, the Vajrayana agrees that afflictions can be transformed into the path. As for the method of transformation, it starts from the Kriya Tantra, up to the practice of the not-so-profound generation stage of Mahayoga. Then, practice by fully understanding the nature. Since this is the main practice of Anuttarayoga, the lower Yanas are the path of abandoning what should be abandoned, while the Vajrayana transforms into the outer tantras, and the inner tantras are the path of fully understanding the nature, as said by Jetsun Marpa, and others who are well-versed in the tantras also proclaim this. Therefore, it is not taught to abandon, but merely restraining the movement of the mind that has become alienated from the ground, so even if only one abandonment is established, there is no contradiction. As Lord Atisha said: 'The vows of mantra are a single abandonment.' My master, the venerable Drukpa Rinpoche, said: 'The Pratimoksha is like abandoning poison, the Bodhisattva is like transforming poison into medicine, and the Vidyadhara's vows are like making poison into food, all are in accordance with not being defiled by faults.' When he said, 'The ways of acting are different,' it seems that the Bodhisattva is placed in transformation. This is consistent with what is said in the Ornament of Precious Liberation, etc., that the Pratimoksha is to abandon harm to others, and the Bodhisattva vows are to benefit others on top of that. For example, the 'ten non-virtuous actions' that are generally stated are to be abandoned on the Hearer's path, but in the Bodhisattva vows, they can be transformed into benefiting others through skillful means. Therefore, just as the Pratimoksha and Bodhisattva vows have been transformed, these two also become the precepts of the Vidyadhara, so the essence is the same, and the difference is established by relying on the respective objects of reference. Abandoning what should be abandoned and accepting what should be learned are the main tasks of mantra, because both are included there. The classifications include: the vows of the Kriya Tantra, the Charya Tantra, the Yoga Tantra, and the vows of the Mahayoga Tantra. It is not necessary to add 'as said in these tantras,' because what is said here is the vows. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
