Granted the Jenang (initiation) of Jamyang Karpo ('jam dkar). Offered common items, ritual implements, etc. At the beginning of the new year of the Iron Female Rabbit year (corresponding to the Ox year), he traveled to Lhasa for pilgrimage. On the way to Lhasa, he met with Shun Zhabdrung Rinpoche (shun zhabs drung rin po che) at Nyetang Tashi Palgang (snye thang bkra shis dpal sgang), and offered some Tsedang (long life empowerment). At Shun Dongkhar (shun gdong mkhar), he bestowed Wang (empowerment) and Jenang (subsequent permission) to the descendants of Zhabdrung Rinpoche. From the common residence of Drepung ('bras spungs) to Danbak Dor (dan 'bag mdor), he enjoyed tea and rest in a specially decorated place with tents and curtains. The steward Chozepa (chos mdzad pa) from Ganden Phodrang (dga' ldan pho brang), the treasurer Senge (seng ge), the abbot (slob dpon pa) from Loseling (blo gsal gling), and the monastic law enforcers came to welcome him. The offerings from various private and official sources were worthy of praise. In Lhasa, in front of the two Jowo Rinpoche (jo bo rin po che) statues, he offered about three thousand 'khal' (a unit of weight) of butter lamps. He gilded the entire body of the Jowo Rinpoche and gilded the faces of the other statues. He made generous gold offerings to the caretakers. At the general assembly of Drepung, he offered various items including red cloth. For the construction of the Ganden Phodrang's relics, he donated four hundred kilograms of copper. At Sera (se ra), he offered tea to the monks and common offerings including protective threads. He instructed, 'Wherever the Eleven-Faced Avalokiteśvara (thugs rje chen po bcu gcig zhal) statue is, I will make a special effort to see it. I have a special devotion to it, but I have only seen it once so far.' He sent someone from Dzongkar (rdzong dgar) to gild the statue. 'I personally did the face opening and gilding of the Jowo Rinpoche,' he said. He advised the reincarnation of Chöje (chos rje), Thukje Paljor (thugs rje dpal 'byor): 'The teachings of Lama Zhang (zhang) seem to be dwindling, so you should pay great attention to them, as they may be helpful in the future.' Later, on the way to Tshal (chal), the Sakya (sa skya) ruler, the Northern King Namgyal Wangyal (byang rgyud rgyal po rnam par rgyal ba), greeted him with many cavalry and infantry. He offered a hundred long-life initiations and twenty-two subsequent permissions to him and the great spiritual friend Shar Tsepawa (shar rtse ba). The representatives from Tshal Dungling (tshal dbus gling) and Yang Gon (yang dgon) welcomed him, respectfully prostrated at his feet, and were satisfied with the nectar of his teachings. He went to Gungtang (gung thang) for pilgrimage. There, an earthquake occurred and a rain of flowers fell. He said that this was an auspicious sign of the place where Chöje Gyare (rgya ras) received his monastic vows. He composed a praise to Zhang Rinpoche (zhang rin po che) adorned with poetic language. At Lovo Khangsar (glo bo khang gsar), he bestowed the nectar of his teachings.

Due to possessing the quality of exhausting (afflictions), Taglung Wonmo, with utmost respect, invited the teachings of the Gyalwa (Victorious One, referring to the Buddha). He spoke all the sealed instructions of Lama Zhang Rinpoche. At that time, in Phan Yul Zhugna Par, he gave this oral instruction: 'Indra, the lord of the gods, who possesses power, when tormented by the lord of death, the demon, repelled it by praying to the protector Buddha and by accumulating merit. Even now, though all is well, the fear of impermanence will surely come. While there is still time, call upon the essence of the sacred Dharma, and strive to complete the two accumulations (of merit and wisdom).' Then, he went to Drog Riwo, where Ganden Nampa Gyalwa was victorious. He offered mandal tea and gold to the monks. All the monks treated him with extraordinary respect and attended to his feet. At that time, Damcho Palbarwa was seated on the throne. Gyalkhang Tsepa, seated at the corner of the throne, was mainly responsible for the foundation-laying ceremony, and all the offerings were particularly harmonious. The conversation was very pleasant, and the foundation-laying ceremony was very grand. Urged by Shar Tsenaky, he also composed a poem praising the great Tsongkhapa, related to poetic rhetoric. The chiliarch (head of a thousand households) Khipon invited him. He stayed there for more than a month. He gave Khipon Jigje Gyalpo the empowerment and subsequent permission, and gave the instruction on coemergent union. He established the oral transmission 'Great Equal Taste' for the attendant Ragrim. At that time, Shabdrung Rinpoche of Drikung sent tea and gifts through the official Tashi Pal. He treated these offerings as common property and had Biru Tagtse and Gamo Drobpa invite him. He stayed in Garpo Gur for a few days, giving mass empowerments every day. In Yuthang, the patrons carried him and offered a large amount of tea, clothes, and silk. He satisfied their wishes. Syen Ngawa of Phan Yul Langtang, who had previously been his disciple, provided fifteen days' worth of lodging expenses. In the Langtang assembly hall, he gave the four complete empowerments of Chakrasamvara, mainly to the monks. At that time, the great Vajra Master appeared in the guise of a Chakravartin, and wisdom descended upon everyone. He went around Khartse once. In general, he traveled throughout the upper and lower parts of Phan Yul this time. Wealthy housewives invited him to their respective residences and offered large material offerings. They greedily tasted the nectar of his words. He was invited to Sumtrang, where he stayed for three days. At that time, Taglung Won Rinpoche and Dranang Lingsum came to invite him. Lingpa had a grand welcoming procession. He reduced the expenses of the camp. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
