To fulfill their wishes, Paba Tokme ('Phags pa Thogs med, Holy Asanga) acted according to the extensive ritual of generating Bodhicitta. At that time, the variety of offerings and the splendor of the arrangement rivaled those of the chief gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens. The great man, the supreme among great men, resided on the high throne, the Bodhisattva, the great Bodhisattva Mipam Padma Karpo (Mi pham Padma dkar po, Invincible White Lotus), wearing a robe like the wings of a bird and a round hat. He sat in the lotus position, with his hands in the gesture of the wheel of Dharma. His voice was as pleasant as the voice of Brahma, and so clear that everyone could understand. He repeated the refuge formula three times so that they would generate the desire to aspire to and enter the path. Then, he requested to be enlightened, rose from his seat, and put his hands together, saying, 'Listen, you Bodhisattvas named so-and-so,' and as soon as he said that, the gods rained down flowers, and the fragrance spread everywhere, and everyone present was happy and content, as if they had attained the first Bhumi. Let Jamyangpa Donyo Pedkar (Rab 'byams pa Don yod pad dkar, Boundless Meaning White Lotus) was appointed as 'You will become the son of Churongkar (Chu rdzong dkar) and accomplish the work of the Lama smoothly'. The Sangha stayed there. Donyo Pedkar roughly completed his practice and went to Merak Do (Me rag mdo). There, he entered a retreat. After the retreat, at Druk Chosding ('Brug chos sdings) Monastery, he extensively bestowed the vows of protection and consecration of the two supports. In Merak Do, there was a local deity, said to be a white god who believed in Buddhism, and a Tsen spirit named Je Thutop Woe (Rje mthu stobs dpa' bo, Venerable Power Warrior), who claimed to be a layperson. He said, 'Virtuous deeds will greatly increase.' At that time, he said to Gyangto Tulku Dechen Rolpa (Gyang mtho sprul sku bde chen rol pa, High Wall Incarnation Great Bliss Play): The sacred Dharma spoken by the Buddhas, Do not leave it all to mere words; In order to truly enter your heart, The Kagyu Lamas are worthy of reverence. Recognize the nature of the unadulterated mind, Cut off addition and slander; The essence of all teachings, The Lama says is the view. When awareness recognizes its own nature, Sinking and agitation both subside without cause; The need for all mind-holding is fulfilled, The Lama says is meditation. Look directly at whatever arises, The source of object and subject is empty; Go into the play of the Avadhuti, The Lama says is conduct. When the abiding place is firmly secured, Bring thoughts as friends; You can skillfully use the Samadhi, The Lama says is concentration. Thus, by showing the face of reality itself, The root of all delusive falsehoods collapses. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
