People were also sent to welcome those who came seeking refuge. The troops were withdrawn before retreating to Dzongmar (rdzong dmar). At that time, Depa (sde pa, ruler) was residing at Rangsam Drubtse (rang bsam 'grub rtser). From Pön Sa (dpon sa) and Khrama (khra ma) to Rinpungpa's (rin spungs pa) Tshezin (tshe 'dzin), there was hardly any internal dispute, and Khrama (khra ma) mediated. To me, no matter how much I requested to stay at the feet of Depa (sde pa), he did not listen, so I went there. Now, Khramapa (khra ma pa) said that I should support him because I am doing what he ordered. If I investigate, it seems that they are going to take my estate and ally with other forces, just like they say 'not to give'. Furthermore, I think Depa (sde pa) himself trusts him very much, so I didn't think there was any problem. He was very concerned about whether Khara (mkha' rag) etc. needed to be handed over. If things continue like this, Rinpungpa (rin spungs pa) will surely become unknown. I released the bonds and sent the finance director Khorpa ('khor pa) to see him. All the officials and servants saw him off and let him return to the estate of Rinpung (rin spungs). At that time, I heard the news 'he is dead', so I focused on doing good deeds. I held a Nagtön (nag ston, a kind of ritual) in Kongpo (kong po). I paid monthly salaries to those who spent the winter in Tsari Jikchar (tsa ri cig car). From Jekhar (bye mkhar) in Tsang (gtsang) to Sakya (sa skya), I offered monastic tea (mang ja) to twenty-seven famous monasteries. I provided each of the monks with a piece of cloth and silk, as well as a large amount of money. I did the same for all the Drukpa Kagyu ('brug pa) monasteries of Ganden Ralung (gdan sa ra lung) and Lhojü (lho rgyud). In particular, I offered monastic tea (mang ja) at Ngamring Monastery (ngams rings chos sder), including three portions of Pöntsé (spobs rtse), gold lettering (gser ga phra mngas), and songs of Depa Garpa (sde pa sgar pa), etc., which were prepared for the blessing of Depa Gyalbu (sde pa rgyal bu). It is said that these two donations enabled about four thousand monks to receive half a share of supplies each. That year, the current Thubten Namgyal (thub stan rnam rgyal) Khenpo (mkhan po), who was then the Kampa (khams pa) Khenpo (slob dpon), Jampa Rabtenpa (byams pa rab brtan pa) and his disciples came to visit. We had a very pleasant conversation. Since he had been associated with me since he worked under Chöjé Khyentsé (chos rje mkhyen brtse pa), I sent him a good horse as a gift for religion, especially Sangpu Düchö (gsang phu dus mchod). Chölung Khenpo (chos lung mkhan po) left his hometown to visit me, and I gave him three hundred kels (khral) of barley. I appointed him as the Khenpo (mkhan po) of Shang Rinchen Gang (shangs rin chen sgang). Later, he seems to have obtained the position of abbot of Shalu Monastery (zha lu). I also improved the relationship between the land and Depa (sde pa). I calculated the income and expenditure of Parnam (pa snam) land. Since Depa (sde pa) himself was close to Zhang Shakpa (zhang shag pa), and Jiangto Dzong (byang rgyang thob rdzong) had a reason to withhold it, Parnam (pa snam) was not handed over. Depa (sde pa) himself also issued an official document, completely dedicating the land as an offering site. After improving the land relations of Gyang (gyang), I only wanted to return it to Rinpungpa (rin spungs pa) himself. For some reason, I didn't understand, I seemed to put my trust in the Dzongpen (rdzong 'dzin pa) himself.
