精通了《般若波罗蜜多摄颂》(Shes rab kyi pha rol tu phyin pa tshig le'ur byas pa sdud pa)的根本颂和注释,以及《入菩萨行论》(Byang chub sems dpa'i spyod pa la 'jug pa)。

Praised him. Geshe Tsangtsa heard the terma (gter ma, treasure teaching) of Illusion (Sgyu 'phrul) and the Great Compassion of Avalokiteśvara (Thugs rje chen po). He received the vows of generating Bodhicitta (byang chub tu sems bskyed pa'i sdom pa) from Lhachen Sodarma Senge. He mastered the root verses and commentary of the 'Compendium of the Perfection of Wisdom in Verse' (Shes rab kyi pha rol tu phyin pa tshig le'ur byas pa sdud pa), and the 'Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds' (Byang chub sems dpa'i spyod pa la 'jug pa). He studied the 'Praise of Names' (Mtshan brjod) according to the Bimala Mitra tradition from Khulung Lhaje Kunga Gyaltsen (Khu lung gi lha rje Kun dga' rgyal mtshan). He heard the Great Compassion of Avalokiteśvara according to the Jowo tradition from the Abbot Disciplinarian of Omtang ('Om thang gi slob dpon 'dul 'dzin). Thus, he respectfully attended to the lama for eleven years, and heard all the fields of knowledge (rig pa'i gnas). When he was twenty-two years old, his father became the patron of generosity for turning the wheel of Dharma (chos kyi 'khor lo), and invited Khenpo Kharlungpa (mkhar lung pa). Countless sons of Shakya, holders of saffron robes, gathered, surrounded by an immeasurable crowd. The Yaksha King (gnod sbyin gyi dbang po) who greatly protects the white side, as well as gods (lha), asuras (lha min), and the eight classes of beings (sde brgyad), also gathered and protected. Thus, in the courtyard, a great lion throne was set up, adorned with magnificent arrangements. The son of the Victorious One (rgyal ba'i sras) sat there, explaining most of the subjects to be known, such as Pramana (tshad ma), Abhidharma (mngon pa), 'Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds' (Byang chub sems dpa'i spyod 'jug), Prajnaparamita (phar phyin), and Madhyamaka (dbu ma), with many umbrellas connected to cover him. Those who were able to refute debaters, analyzed with scripture (lung) and reasoning (rigs pa), fully understood, praised and rejoiced. People were amazed and showed respect with various offerings. The gods of the desire and form realms who protect the white side also scattered divine flowers, played beautiful music and songs, offered various kinds of offerings, and the praisers also praised him. At that time, this great earth also shook in six ways. The retinue, including the Lord of Desire ('dod pa'i dbang phyug), were delighted. The Victorious Ones (rgyal ba'i dbang po) residing in the infinite realms of the ten directions, together with their assemblies of disciples, bestowed supreme bliss upon sentient beings with rays of joy. Thus, having diligently studied through prolonged effort in reading, hearing, and contemplating (klog pa thos bsam), he attained perfect wisdom through the power of learning. Now he thought, 'I should diligently engage in meditation (spong ba bsam gtan).' So, he went to a secluded mountain cave called Razung (Ra bzung) in his birthplace, and diligently practiced meditation to benefit all sentient beings. At that time, the glorious... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hearing that Gling Raspa Pema Dorje (Padma Vajra), renowned like the sun and moon for his wealth of spiritual attainment, was nearby, he went to meet him. They engaged in profound and extensive Dharma discussions, which awakened him and filled him with joy. Thereafter, he practiced yoga in places like Gyama in Tsang, staying for several months at a time. When he turned twenty-three, he thought, 'I must seek a master who can grant me the empowerment to control my mind and teach me the means to do so.' Initially, he intended to go to U-Tsang, but his companions dissuaded him, yet he did not listen. Those who said, 'You are already learned, why go?' He replied, 'Although the Dharma I have learned before is wonderful, I now go to cut through all doubts.' When asked where he was going, he said, 'I will see as I go.' He then traveled with some like-minded friends to the great Jokhang Temple (Lhasa Trulnang Tsuklakang Chenpo). There, he paid homage to Jowo Shakyamuni (Jo-bo Shakya-mune) and the Eleven-Faced Avalokiteshvara, the sole refuge of the world, the protector who bestows all benefits and happiness, and a great field of merit for beings. He also made prayers to accomplish vast benefit for himself and others. Then, he went to the great Samye Monastery (Pal Samye Lhun-gyis Grubpai Tsuklakang Chenpo). The abbot there was a disciple of a great siddha, and the wonderful stories of the master's life inspired him, causing the hairs on his body to stand on end with faith, tears of longing to flow, and a desire to meet the master as strong as a mother's love for her child. Thereafter, he spent his time solely thinking of the venerable master, keeping him constantly in mind. At that time, he inquired where the great siddha was residing and heard that he was in Napu. Upon hearing this, his body and mind were filled with joy and bliss, as if he were in meditation. Then, as he prepared to go to Napu Cholung, the evil demon thought, 'If this person relies on that virtuous friend, my realm will be destroyed. I must stop him first.' So, it disguised itself as the former abbot on the path. When he arrived there, the 'abbot' said, 'What I said before was a lie. He is an evil friend, do not go!' Recognizing this as the work of a demon, he rebuked it with words that vanquished demons, and it immediately disappeared. Then, without hesitation, he went to meet the master. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
