This 'Namtarthar of Gampopa: A Wave of Amazing Faith' was compiled by Shakya Bhikshu, a holder of the glorious Drukpa lineage, a speaker of logic and reason, Mipham Pema Karpo Gyalwa De, based on the biographies compiled by Sangye Won and Gyalwa Lorepa, at the urging of Sangye Darpo, a greatly learned and diligent practitioner of the supreme vehicle. It was completed in the fourth month of the Earth Monkey year, the Saga month of the Kalachakra, on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon during the great festival of the Buddha, in a secluded camp in the delightful and prosperous land of Eastern Kongpo. The scribe was Yagzangpa Chöje Rinchen Nyima. Prayer: May you be the sole medicine for all beings equal to space! May you be the source of glory for all benefit and happiness! May the supreme Buddha's teachings flourish and spread on earth through gain and respect! May the great tradition of preaching and practicing the chariot, Those incomparable spiritual friends who lead beings to the path of liberation, May their lives be long and their activities expand! May those who have passed away from this world to other realms, All obstacles to their places and paths be completely pacified, May all their noble intentions be fulfilled, And may they constantly benefit beings through their emanations!
