He proclaimed the pure Dharma, beautiful as a lotus in water. When he entered the womb, the mother experienced unprecedented bliss. As the time of birth approached, her body became complete, with auspicious signs. Two thousand two hundred and eighteen years had passed since the Teacher Shakyamuni showed the manner of great passing. In the center of the great city of Glorious Uprising, on a great lion throne, the emanation of the Subduer, the Tamer of the Lineage Boundless (Rigden Taya), came to teach the Dharma in the Wood-Fire year. In the Iron Female Snake year called 'Supreme Group', on the waxing day of the first summer month, when the Day Star (Pasang) met the constellation Nub (Snubs-'dzom), the Union of Brahma (Tsangpa'i Jorwa) was on the slope called Jilbu Tangra, with auspicious omens, the Lama of beings was born. Then, there appeared a mass wrapped without interval in garments radiant like Indra's net. As soon as they saw it, the maids, unaccustomed to such a sight, were frightened and threw it away. He became the youngest of six elder brothers. When the foster mother went on a long road, she met the elder brother Lha Nyan. She related the story of what had happened, and he was overjoyed and his hair stood on end. Then, he came quickly, and there was a vulture hovering over the bushes. He wondered, 'Has it been eaten by a bird?' With doubt, he went there. There he saw that the mass had burst open, and a boy, beautiful and handsome, adorned with many marks, pleasing and lovely to behold, was living and dwelling in the nest of the vulture's wings. Thereupon, he received great joy and reverence. Then, they devoted themselves entirely to the means of raising the youth with immeasurable affection. They entrusted him to a Bonpo for a while to protect him, and he was also named Yungdrung Pal. He was free from the stain of faults, strong in body, skilled in the ways of youth, and captivated the minds of all beings. Together with Ne'u-ldang and others, he played in a grand manner, reviewing the past and looking to the future. Once, while playing on a square stone slab near the city called Gyalrong, he imprinted the lotus marks of his feet on a nearby stone, placing it as an object of worship for gods and humans. Thereafter, he was four years old. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Furthermore, he went to the virtuous teacher Kharlungpa, who was like a mentor, and learned the thirty letters, which are the basis of all disciplines, including reading and writing, and many other fields of knowledge, and demonstrated the way of learning. When he was eight years old, his mother, who gave birth to him, passed away. When he was twelve years old, he and his wealthy elder brother, Kalden, relied on the virtuous teacher Tatangpa. He shaved his head, received the vows of a fully ordained layman, and was given the name 'Wheel of Wisdom Nectar'. He listened to the four empowerments of the glorious Chakrasamvara according to the tradition of Zangkar Lotsawa, and for three years he mastered the common and uncommon disciplines of Bodhisattvas - the Compendium of The Great Vehicle, and the disciplines of the three lineages - the Five Categories of Grounds, the uncommon discipline of the Hearers - the Treasury of Abhidharma, and he diligently studied the Dharma that expounds the discipline of higher wisdom - the Abhidharma. He also listened to the practice of Yoga and the pacification methods, etc. At the age of fifteen, he went again to the knowledgeable Kharlungpa, and mainly studied the Compendium of Valid Cognition, the only eye for viewing all the scriptures, and the commentary that clearly explains its meaning, and he also heard the six treatises such as the Commentary on Valid Cognition. From this, he mastered all the fields of epistemology and realized the great tradition of the Svabhavasunyata (Madhyamaka) school, becoming a great master of speech. Therefore, he became the only hero who destroys the tenets that cannot withstand rational analysis, and is proclaimed by all beings, including the gods. He also heard from that virtuous teacher the cycle of the Expanded Common General Outline of the Magical Secret Essence and the Great Perfection. There, he had a slight illness, but it cleared up without needing treatment. In order to distinguish the countless doors of Dharma, he built a high platform in Tsang Rong's Yung and gave teachings. In front of the teacher and his retinue, he expertly studied the six Madhyamaka treatises that establish the stages of emptiness directly revealed by the Perfection of Wisdom, and listened to the Great Perfection Mind teachings. At that time, when a great Dharma wheel appeared on his forehead, this great Bodhisattva youth skillfully taught the Dharma, so that all the assembled virtuous teachers, children, young people, and old men and women listened attentively and were overjoyed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
