Then, they pleaded again: 'Great Lama, please do not go to Mount Tise under any circumstances.' He sang a song: 'Gods and humans think of me, sometimes saying go, sometimes saying stay. If I say stay, I will go again. Listen to me explain the reason. I have vowed to go to Mount Tise.' etc. After saying this, he canceled the plan to go to Mount Tise. In Chuwo Ri, the great ones prepared a sumptuous meal, and he stayed there. Because many people gathered, he became annoyed and admonished the crowd: 'You must also strive to practice. When death comes, non-Dharma things will not help you in any way. When practicing, no matter whether you encounter favorable or unfavorable circumstances, you must not be particularly attached to them.' After saying this, he sang a song about six examples. After that, Tsepowa Risin invited him to Kyimey Spurpu Longdol, pleading with him to establish a monastery, which he agreed to, and built some huts there to live in. At that time, his attendant, named Jangchup Zhonnu, thought: 'No matter where I go in the autumn, I can get a lot of things, why should I stay here meaninglessly to eat?' At this time, the master thought: 'Oh dear, I didn't ask him to stay.' Then he said: 'Don't regard work as Dharma.' Then he recited: Namo! Great Jangchup Zhonnu, the master of the tree of secret mantras, do not regard work as Dharma! etc., he taught him in this way. After that, the master thought: 'Now I will go to Drigung, in front of Jigten Sumgon (Kyopa Rinpoche), and request some profound Dharma.' So, Gekongpa, Jenpo Gompa, Ton Ringwa, and a servant set off together. When they had traveled for a day and were about to arrive, Jigten Sumgon (Jigten Sumgon) said: 'All those near me, this morning, someone will come to see me, do not stop him, let him come to me.' That day, the master and disciples arrived at Drigung and met a servant. The attendants chased after him, but near the village of Srang, they could not persuade him to return despite various attempts, so they handed him the hat. When the master and disciples reached the Tsakha pass, Zhang Tropa Yong foresaw this and said, 'Today the Indian venerable Nāropa is coming, let us master and disciples go to welcome him.' So, they took silk, umbrellas, banners, pennants, and various kinds of musical instruments, Accompanied by hundreds of attendants. There, they thought, 'There must be a great Lama.' So they looked around, and after a while, they saw from afar a renunciate and his four disciples. They were immediately displeased and complained to Zhang. But Lama Zhang Rinpoche was very pleased, gradually approached and met them, and their minds became one. Zhang said, 'If someone like you were to become a monk, it would greatly benefit the Dharma and sentient beings.' He replied, 'I do not have the Lama's permission, is it okay?' Zhang said, 'I can give you permission. Why not take ordination?' At this time, he thought, 'It seems that yesterday's good dream was a sign of this.' So he said, 'Just as the Buddhas of the past shaved their heads, so shall I do.' When he shaved his dark and lustrous hair with a golden razor, Lama Zhang was very pleased and said, 'In this snowy land, who is more superior than me? I have cut the hair of Pal Nāropa!' Then, he rode a white old horse and galloped away, decorating temples and so on with various offerings.
