From the perspective of reasoning, it transcends all commitments, as it is not the object of ultimate truth or all worldly contemplation of hearing and thinking. Regarding the classification of conventional pramana (means of valid cognition), it depends on the object to be measured (prameya), therefore it is necessary to determine the object to be measured. The second part is about explaining the branches of conventional pramana (means of valid cognition). The classification of pramana depends on the object to be measured (prameya), so it is determined. Since the object to be measured and the measuring pramana are two, these two are shown in detail. The first part includes: a brief explanation through textual connection; an expanded explanation through detailed analysis; and a summary of the meaning through verbal expression. These are the three parts. First, in order to introduce the ultimate truth (paramārtha-satya), the conventional truth (saṃvṛti-satya) is shown. However, this is slightly different among the Madhyamikas (Middle Way School), because they accept it like worldly conventions (laukika prasiddha), or some like the Sautrāntikas (Sutra School), or some like the Yogācāras (Mind-Only School). Here, for the time being, leaving the ultimate truth aside, out of compassion for the world, they acknowledge the existence of external objects, thereby preventing the great wrong views of the Tirthikas (non-Buddhists) and others. When they understand the object to be tamed, they then show the Mind-Only School, that external objects do not exist, and all appearances are only mind. When they realize this, they then lead them to the good path of the Madhyamaka, thereby also preventing this view. As it is said: 'That very nature of reality, placed in equanimity, like an elephant king looking back, solely with worldly mind, enters into external object activity.' This philosophical position (siddhānta) that asserts the existence of external objects is divided into the Vaibhāṣika (Great Exposition School) and the Sautrāntika (Sutra School). These two agree that the form aggregate (rūpa-skandha), elements (dhātu), and sources (āyatana) which are form (rūpin) are not merely appearances of the mind. They also believe that a mind without an object (viṣaya) is not possible. The Bhagavan (Blessed One) distinguished and explained the external dependent origination (bahir pratītyasamutpāda) and the internal dependent origination (ādhyatmika pratītyasamutpāda), which shows that both mind and object exist in ultimate reality. The statement in the sutras, 'The mind without an object appears as an object,' does not completely negate the object, but is taught as an antidote to counteract the speculation and grasping of the accumulation of many particles due to erroneous conceptualization (vikalpa). Of these two, the position of the Sautrāntika is: 'Direct perception (pratyakṣa) and inference (anumāna) are pramana, the two characteristics of measuring things.' And, 'Since there are two objects to be measured (prameya), there are two pramanas (means of valid cognition).' etc., which is determined in detail. Generally, the object to be measured or the thing to be measured --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
