Thus, the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas are established. Potency is known as a companion to potency. From this, birth from the womb occurs. The Saha world is formed in sequence. Afflictions are coarse and the fruit is bad. The end reaches the Avici hell. Thus it is said. Also, when the light of the self-nature image appears, from the five vases of the radiance of the five kayas, the thigle matures into appearance. Because of the habituation to this, the five lights are the objects. The thigle is mistaken as the support of the body. When practicing, the light and thigle increase. The light is liberated into the pure land. The thigle matures into the body (246). The delusion of the body being coarse and of earth and stone is purified. Finally, the key is that the five vases of self-nature light are liberated into inner clarity. Therefore, by grasping onto the light, the light of the image together with the thigle returns to its original place. Because its habituation is firm, this is what appears as the happiness and suffering of the container and its contents. Next, the third general meaning is to show the state of mind at the time of delusion, which has five points: generally showing the Dharma of the final age, explaining the arising Dharma in detail, showing the intention of the body and wisdom, stating the state of mind and wisdom, and thereby listing synonymous terms. The first part has thirteen points: the five skandhas, the five faculties, the five supports, the five consciousnesses, the twelve ayatanas, the eighteen dhatus, the six realms, the four births, the five paths, the six abodes, the six afflictions, the twelve links of dependent origination, and the eight aggregates of consciousness. First, there are the five skandhas: form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. Second, there are the five faculties: eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body. Third (247), the support of the eye is like a saffron flower, the support of the ear is like a conch shell, the support of the nose is like copper tubes lined up. The support of the tongue is like a half-moon. The support of the body is like skin that is soft to the touch. These five are the supports for seeing the five objects. The sense consciousness is the door through which the object appears, hence the five doors. Fourth, there are the five consciousnesses: the eye consciousness that grasps form, the ear consciousness that grasps sound, the nose consciousness that grasps smell, the tongue consciousness that grasps taste, and the body consciousness that grasps touch. Consciousness is the aspect of the object, because it is a consciousness that arises similarly to it. The twelve ayatanas are: form, sound, smell.

Mig. Ear. Nose. Tongue. Body. The sense-sphere of mind consciousness. In knowing the aspects of the six objects, six consciousnesses arise and propagate. The latter arises from the former, and because it propagates, it is called a sense-sphere. The eighteen realms are: six objects, six faculties, six sense-consciousnesses, which are combined. They are combined between the eye and form, and the tongue and mind. Because they are numerous and vast, they are called realms. The six realms of beings are: hell, hungry ghosts, animals, humans, asuras, and gods. Because they are impermanent and transmigrate from one to another, they are called realms of beings. The four types of birth are: egg-born, womb-born, moisture-born, and spontaneously born. They are born as mere appearances of the body, which is the basis of consciousness, because of the appearance. The five paths are: the path of suffering in hell, the path of obstructing hungry ghosts, the path of darkness for animals, the path of choice for humans, and the path of distraction for gods. Because one travels and goes to happiness and suffering in the present and future, it is called a path. Because there are five different types, there are five paths. Asuras are included among the desire gods. Some texts also say that the upper class are gods and the lower class are animals. The six abodes are: the abode of endurance in hell, the abode of mindfulness for hungry ghosts, the abode of equanimity for animals, the abode of desire for humans, the abode of contention for asuras, and the abode of joy for gods (249). Because one relies on that place, it is called an abode. The six afflictions are: desire, hatred, delusion, pride, jealousy, and anger. Because they cause suffering and make the mind miserable, they are called afflictions. The twelve links of dependent origination are: ignorance, karmic formations, consciousness, name and form, six sense-spheres, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, becoming, birth, old age, and death. Because they depend on each other and arise as cause and condition, they cause cyclic existence to enter the cycle. The eight aggregates of consciousness are: the all-ground consciousness, mind consciousness, afflicted mind, and the five sense consciousnesses. Because the consciousness that knows other objects is mind, it is called consciousness. Eight is the distinction of different categories. The fifty-one mental factors are included within the all-pervasive mental factors.
