It is said that the faults of the mind are the nature of samsara, and they are considered to arise from it. There are five doors, and the eye (458) and ear are considered the doors of wisdom. The reason why others are not considered is: Although it seems similar if the function of wisdom, the part where consciousness operates, is included, it is established in this way from the perspective of whether the self-nature of wisdom, the three of sound, light, and rays, are actually visible and audible now. This key point is not known by others, and I have realized this key point and recorded it here. Third, the distinction between mind and wisdom: Because of knowing the object with wisdom, both mind and wisdom are the same in knowing the meaning, so from the two aspects of the mixed part and the distinction. First, the mind is the function of the mind, clinging to and distinguishing the object by clinging to the outside with conceptual thought. The nature of the mind is the conceptual thought itself. Definition: The object is made by the mind, hence the name mind. Classification: There are six kinds such as co-emergent, or mind-consciousness only to know the object, and the two kinds of afflictive mind that generate attachment and aversion. Function: Accumulating karma and habits, thereby manifesting samsara. Result: Suffering. Reason for naming: It is called mind because of its aspect of acting and moving on the object (459). In the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror, it says: The mind is like a feather carried by the wind. Thus it is said. Wisdom is the function of compassion, the knowledge of the non-duality of manifestation and liberation. Although knowing the object, it does not follow the object, so the manifestation of knowledge does not make distinctions. Like an image in a mirror, it does not make distinctions when it appears. Although various images appear, it does not distinguish the images that appear, so it is called the supreme wisdom of non-distinction. The nature of wisdom is that although it can determine the object, it does not make distinctions. Definition: Although it knows in an instant what the image of the object is, it does not distinguish it by the coarse and fine ways of conceptual thought. Therefore, it is the most supreme among all things that know the object, hence the name wisdom. Classification: There are two kinds of wisdom of knowing phenomena and wisdom of knowing the nature of phenomena, or the three stages of hearing, thinking, and meditating. The yogi does not distinguish even when hearing, does not distinguish even when thinking, and does not distinguish even when meditating, because there is no continuous image of moments (460). Therefore, it is comprehended in one instant. As it is said in the "Praise of Names": In the instant of great wisdom, it contains the comprehension of all phenomena. Thus it is said.

The reason for the entry of sound is: Because one does not discriminate the excellent knowledge of other realms, it is wisdom because it is knowledge through knowledge. According to the Pramana: Mind and wisdom, the measure of knowledge, exist when phenomena appear in various ways. Moreover, in the Unsurpassed Tantra and oral instructions, sometimes it is said that discrimination leads to entering samsara and should be abandoned, and sometimes it is said that in the vast expanse of intention, all of this should be understood in this way. What is said to be impurity, obstacles, and what should be abandoned should be recognized as discrimination that randomly flows outward to external objects. All that is said to be self-liberation, self-arising, mere play is intention, and does not abandon discrimination but takes it as the path. Although it is nominally said to be discrimination and mind, in reality it should be recognized as wisdom. For example, after death: All phenomena and existence appear as the realm of Dharmakaya, and the very appearance is liberated in oneself. (461) Like this. Moreover, when it appears, the aspect of awareness is wisdom, but the flowing aspect becomes wind, so the horse of the mind must be separated from the wind, so it is important to distinguish between mind and wisdom. Wisdom has the aspect of awareness, but it does not have the aspect of flow, so it is different from the meaning of mind. Because these two have differences, if the wise do not understand, how can the foolish understand? When observing the differences of form, those with eyes cannot understand, so how can the blind understand? Therefore, distinguish at the point of mixing, and grasp this understanding well. This is called the intermediate verse, which is to teach to understand the difficult to understand points. The second meaning is that there are three stages of practice after understanding: understanding the state of Dharmakaya, the self-abiding of primordial purity, and practicing it; understanding the state of wisdom, the self-sounding of spontaneous perfection, and practicing it; and teaching the oral instructions of understanding the state of wisdom, the self-power of all-pervading compassion (462). The first is: The present naked self-nature of awareness, free from mind, empty and clear like the sky, this is the essence of the primordial pure Dharmakaya, recognizing the nature in its own place, recognizing it as emptiness, empty and clear, without inner or outer, vast and open, and then loosely, transparently, self-clearly, without interval, and empty and clear, abiding in a state of hara. As it is said in the Prasangika: In the base, there is no object, understanding is enough. Only that, Dharma.
