Be patient! If you examine closely, you will find nothing. Therefore, practice in this way. Place the unattached awareness into the unattached eye, and settle the unattached self-awareness on the unattached ground, placing it on the ground without abandonment or attainment. As it is said, the scriptures speak of four types: outer, inner, secret. Now, all actions are the body, so there are two things: training the body, leaving appearances in their own place, and transformation. Then, it will gradually manifest. This meditation is also: the insubstantial, non-elaborate awareness, because the rope of memory is cut and released, this unthinking relaxation is to send the memories to the place of exhaustion. As it is said, when thoughts arise, there are two things to do: tame the mind and settle the awareness. Although there is nowhere to go, relying on the body, eyes, and the essential points of the expanse of awareness (258), it will gradually reveal and manifest. This very view is: the impartial awareness is clear and unobstructed, there is nothing to obscure it, and there is no obstruction from itself. In the vast and expansive precious palace, behold the awareness in which the five elements are exhausted, resting peacefully. As it is said, there are two views: the Trekchö non-elaboration view and the Tögal direct perception view. Here, the yogi is looking at the expanse of awareness. For this, the appearance of Tögal is seen with the eyes, so one should rely on methods to clarify the eyes, so that the actual view can gradually be seen. Thus, the prophecy is given. The result of this is: the great mudra that embodies emptiness itself, the fruit is primordially inherent and universally established. Wisdom is without attachment, and conduct is vast and self-luminous. This is the profound secret of all the Buddhas. As it is said, there are those who believe in attaining the three kayas of measurable fruition, and those who take the immeasurable three kayas as the path, the body without body, which is the supreme of the body, the ultimate of the body is realization (259). There are also those who believe that the exhaustion of all phenomena is the ultimate, and both of these will manifest. These are to distinguish the differences between oneself and others, so the scriptures speak of four types: outer, inner, secret, and suchness. Here, it is only a slight distinction, and these will gradually be understood. A section distinguishing the view, meditation, and conduct of oneself and others, the sixth section. Then, if empowerment and instruction are mixed together, then, for the time being...

Here, the empowerment of non-elaboration will be bestowed. Then, one should learn to distinguish between samsara and nirvana, with awareness as the guide. This is different from the previous teachings, so it should only be done for about three fortunate individuals. If one is to perform the empowerment, since it is a preliminary for the empowerment of extreme non-elaboration, it is said that it should be done for about three days beforehand. The actual practice should be done during the main practice period until the signs are complete. In any case, in order to prevent obstacles from interfering with the manifest conduct (260), and to prevent the eight consciousnesses from scattering to objects, one should seal it with eight syllables. The student should stand in front of the lama, with palms joined at the heart. The lama should face east and, with a threatening gesture, dispel obstacles and offer a torma to the dakinis. On the crown of the student's head, visualize a blue HŪṂ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). Visualize it arising from the net-like veins, and the entire body transforming into HŪṂ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). At the soles of the feet, visualize a green YAṂ (Tibetan: ཡྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: यं, Sanskrit Romanization: yaṃ, Literal meaning: Yam). At the navel, visualize a reddish-green RAṂ (Tibetan: རྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: रं, Sanskrit Romanization: raṃ, Literal meaning: Ram). At the throat, visualize a smoky KHAṂ (Tibetan: ཁྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: खं, Sanskrit Romanization: khaṃ, Literal meaning: Kham). At the forehead, visualize a blue E (Tibetan: ཨེ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ए, Sanskrit Romanization: e, Literal meaning: Eh). At the armpits, visualize a yellow SUṂ (Tibetan: སུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: सुं, Sanskrit Romanization: suṃ, Literal meaning: Sum). On the right knee, visualize a white HAṂ (Tibetan: ཧྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Literal meaning: Ham). Again, at the soles of the feet, visualize a bluish-black PHAṬ (Tibetan: ཕཊཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Literal meaning: Phat), and recite twenty-one times with each breath to protect it. Then, the teaching on distinguishing between body, speech, and mind is given. Those who practice should abandon all worldly activities of body and speech, and first, for several days, in an extremely (261) secluded place, where there are no human voices, dog barks, etc., and where even the sounds of people of inferior vehicles are not heard, sit very calmly. Then, offer tormas of food and various flowers to the dakinis, pray for no obstacles, and strive to engage in physical activities. Physical activities include running, dancing, moving, shaking, lying down, standing up, sitting, and various other postures, mixing them with speech and mind, and doing whatever worldly things come to mind. It is said that one should do this day and night without sleeping. These are the forms of the body in samsara. One should become tired and lazy of these, thinking, "What is the use of the worldly body and actions?" And then, one should settle the unwavering body of nirvana into a state of peace. How much of this should be done depends on the individual, until one reaches one's own limit.
