The signs of familiarity are a light body, clear speech, and a stable mind. Second, regarding the form: Then, visualize a white and bluish drop of wind, about the size of a pea, from the space between the eyebrows to the tip of the nose, and keep your eyes fixed in that direction. Exhale slowly and deeply, visualizing the drop moving forward smoothly, and the body and mind becoming empty and hollow. As it returns, coordinate with the inhalation, visualizing the drop appearing in the space between the eyebrows, and focus on the cool sensation. If you feel cold or the body is cold and shivering, visualize the drop as hot and blazing. This will capture the mind, and wherever the target (243) is directed, it will appear as such, which is a sign of accomplishment. If even that doesn't capture the thoughts, then third, learn to count: Keep the body in the previous posture, and train the awareness to move in and out with the breath. As the breath goes out, focus the awareness on it at the same time. As the breath comes in, do the same. In this way, count the two, exhaling and inhaling, as one, from one to two, and so on. By counting, even though there are twenty-one thousand six hundred breaths in a day, it is important to divide them into sessions and keep the awareness undistracted for about one thousand eight hundred breaths. After that, the thoughts will settle down. Gradually lengthen the exhalation and inhalation slowly, so that eventually they can be maintained and held for a long time, which is accomplishment. Then, fourth, learn the in and out: Visualize at your navel a skull cup, white on the outside and bright red on the inside, and inside it a blue wind vajra the size of a bean. As you exhale, visualize the breath going far out from the nose (244). As you inhale, visualize the breath coming into the skull cup with a blue glow, and focus on the comfortable and relaxed feeling of the body. After that, when the thoughts settle down, the distance the breath travels inward becomes shorter and shorter, until it finally stops at the tip of the nose, sixteen finger-widths away. Combine the inner and outer movement of the breath, and it is important to lengthen the exhalation and inhalation. Then, fifth, learn the practice of vase breathing: Practice the breath a few times beforehand as before. Visualize the vajra dissolving into the skull cup, everything dissolving, and becoming a naturally formed Tibetan letter “ཧ” (ha, Sanskrit: ह, Romanization: ha, meaning: ha) at the navel. Visualize the belly filling with breath, tightly contracting the lower abdomen, and visualize the breath and body as like a mist. As you exhale, visualize the breath and mind merging with the sky, spreading upwards empty and clear, without any separation.

Meditate by mixing with conceptual thoughts. As a sign of proficiency, one does not fear the existence of the body, the wind arises where it is drawn, food and clothing do not come to mind, and the movement of conceptual thoughts (245) ceases naturally. These are the methods for training in wind yoga. Although it has many branches, the work has come to completion. This is the third section, showing the order of instruction for training in wind. Having become proficient in wind in this way, training in bindu is divided into two: For those with attachment, training in the bliss of father and mother is explained by fifteen vows, which has been clarified from the oral instructions, so it is not written here. For those without attachment, meditating on the bliss of wind and mind within oneself is as follows: The posture of the body is the same as before. The object of focus is: Meditate that one's body is empty and clear, and at the crown of the head, visualize a bindu, a lamp of emptiness, white and oily, about the size of a pea. Perform the kumbhaka practice of wind as before, and the bindu, like a small pea, trembles and reaches the throat, causing the body to feel comfortable. Place the mind on this. Then, as it reaches the heart, the bliss increases even more. Then, as it reaches the navel, (246) the bliss increases even more. As it reaches the secret place, the bliss reaches its peak. Place awareness on this, and the body feels comfortable and empty. When one feels that the bliss is increasing and unbearable, turn it back and dissolve it, focusing awareness on the crown of the head. Another method is to visualize the red "ha" (Tibetan: ཧ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह, Sanskrit Romanization: ha, Chinese literal meaning: ha) at the navel as before. The bindu descends like a small pea, dissolving one into the other, dissolving into the "ha" syllable. Then, feeling comfortable, the bindu and the "ha" syllable become smaller and smaller, becoming empty and clear, and abide in non-conceptualization. In this way, the entire body enters a state of bliss and emptiness, awareness abides in one-pointedness, and when wind and bindu are mastered, when directly experiencing awareness, purifying the elements is effortless, cutting off attachment to food and clothing, and it is extremely important for gaining control over the awareness that clings to characteristics. In short, it is very important to gain freedom of mind (247) based on all forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects, as stated in all sutras and tantras. Especially for those with strong conceptual thoughts, in this Great Perfection of Naturalness, countless stages of meditation are taught. Those with karma, those who have practiced before, the mind
