Fearing blame, he kept silent. Upon arriving in the depths of the woods, he tethered his steed to a pillar. When he went to pay homage, those wicked ones did not heed his words, alas! The monk-official Drakpa needed extensive medical treatment at Ramoche Temple, so he believed that he possessed unobstructed clairvoyance. The supreme among humans, he turned the wheel of Dharma. The moon of speech, endowed with clairvoyant eyes. Who else is like this noble being (551)? I respectfully prostrate to the all-knowing one of the three times. Then, proceeding to Upper Ü, Situ welcomed him at Kharwa Ring. He stayed for three days and provided the summer retreat stipend. Then, proceeding upwards to Oddiyana, an assembly like an ocean gathered. From the foot of the Oddiyana mountain down to the cliffs of Pari, it was filled with white, black, and variegated robes. There were three times more listeners than donors. The leader of the new Dharma listeners was Dü Khorwa Gendun Pal. There were about forty lamas and teachers expounding the Dharma. Lamas, teachers, and many officials from the Drigung area gathered. The instructions on the Clear Light Vajra Essence were initiated on the fifteenth day of the fourth month. On the eighth day, a great offering was made to the gathering. On the tenth day of every month, from Phenyul upwards to Tsemogyalchin downwards, an assembly like an ocean (552) gathered, and a lavish tenth-day offering was made. Previously, when receiving the Nyingtik instructions, no Dharma tax was levied. Now that I have the opportunity to teach the Dharma, no Dharma tax will be imposed. Six-tenths of whatever offerings are received will be used for the tenth and eighth-day ceremonies, and one-third will be used for immediate needs, sustenance, and care for disciples. He made a firm vow to this effect. In order not to waste the offerings, the tsampa for the tenth and eighth days was kneaded with butter and milk. He meditated on the food and offerings presented to the eyes. No matter who considered themselves important, if they could not digest this food, they were not allowed to eat it. During the offerings, he said not to worry that those of high rank would receive less, so the offerings were distributed from the lowest rank upwards. Respect should be given to the Sangha, not to sinners, so it was not given to those with black karma. Those who desire to be great

He would not offer seats to them, nor (553) show respect, this was his heart's vow. No matter how much wealth the rich accumulated and offered, it was good to do good deeds with devout faith. He kept it in his heart and did not speak it out, he did not make rebuttals or donations. If he did, it would be like doing business, and he would waste his own things. Even if one offered Shakyamuni Buddha silk worth a thousand gold coins, there was no custom of giving it away except for dedication. Accumulating merit and reciting scriptures, etc., should be done by the patrons. He said that if the patron and the offering were reversed, it would not be good like coercion. He quoted many stories from the Vinaya Pitaka and so on. Even if a beggar or other weak person brought a bowl of black porridge, he would enjoy it as if he were eating delicious food. He would make extensive dedication rituals and merit statements. The two accumulations in the sky, the two obscurations like clouds dispersed, the sun of wisdom shone with a myriad of lights, the thousand-petaled lotus of the fortunate ones bloomed, (554) and at the same time satisfied the six-legged beings, praise to you! Then, he gave very extensive empowerments and guidance to the assembly. On one of the days when he was teaching the later Dharma, when the prince Kṣānti invited him into the room with an incense burner, he said, "If you are not busy, bring some draft papers of the Dakini Heart Essence." After saying that, he moved the ladder away and did not let anyone come up, saying, "Bring the pen." When giving the light of the immaculate testament, he said, "Now I will not stay, the lotus activity is complete, I am going to seize the stronghold of immortal bliss, life is exhausted, karma is exhausted, and aspirations are exhausted." When he said these words, the prince Kṣānti, with tears in his eyes, prostrated and pleaded, saying, "Please do not say such inauspicious words." He said, "What is inauspicious about it? Doing it now in a time of leisure will be helpful in a time of busyness." Then, he made the light of the immaculate testament (555) for all the disciples, and especially the Mirror of Essential Points of the testament for the Heart Essence practitioners. He put these into the book of the Dakini Heart Essence, and said, "Do not tell anyone about these." Thinking of departing, he left a testament to his eldest son, showing that he had clairvoyance, was separated from the aggregates of seeing-abandonment and ignorance, and showed respect to the actual manifestation of Mañjuśrī.
