Holding within, free from action and agent; within the lamp of the sphere, holding with skillful means is the action, which is the eyes not moving; this also refers to the three abidings and the three non-movements. Showing the means of staring at appearances: transforming all direct appearances into the nature of wisdom. The appearances themselves appear clearly, yet the mind does not wander and does not fixate on the meaning. Furthermore, all the nature of appearances, without any conceptualization, and abiding without separation from one's own lamp, abandoning outer and inner activities, in an extremely solitary place without conditions, one should look at those sitting in meditation. Showing the cause of the sphere: the outer sphere is empty space; the inner sphere (39) is light and color. The secret sphere is the lamp; because the stains of afflictions are completely purified, the true lamp is also, for sentient beings, in the time before relying on the body, not made by anyone. With the half-body of the bindu, half are the four lamps generated by the cause of the ultimate; from the continuous practice of taking conditions, the fruit ripens into the bodies; half is the cause of the conventional bindu, the mother bindu from the aggregation of elements generates the body; from the four conditions of birth, it ripens into different forms; the father's cause, from the aggregation of the essence of bodhicitta, generates many mothers with memory; aggregated by the four conditions, the mind ripens into different minds, hence it is half-body, ripening into the ultimate body, ripening into the conventional body. During the time of practice, in the center of the bindu of light, the body appears alternately from below the navel, hence it is called the half-body of the bindu. The appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata, not established anywhere (40), is: earth without solidity, yellow light; water without moisture, white gathering; fire without heat, red light; wind without movement, green light; space without pervasiveness, great radiant indigo, and the five. In the sphere of the exhaustion of dharmata, because of self-purity, the nature of appearance is not established anywhere, hence there is no fear in it, and later there is no fear; there is no condition to destroy it, in the place without object appearance, relying on the great instruction of the condition guru, one is liberated in that way. The unarranged dharmata is the reality of things. Awareness, self-appearance, is

Dbyings so! The appearance of wisdom as it is, is the exhaustion of the nature of reality. The appearance of the pure aspects of wisdom is the thigle of the body of wisdom. The appearance of self-liberated awareness is the continuous stream. The appearance of the delusion of the six realms is seeing one object as many different things. E-tha! What is the characteristic of awareness? A great darkness without color. A great movement without breath (41). Flying without wings. Possessing coming and going without feet. Because it knows itself, it is awareness. E-tha! What is a thigle? An unwritten circle with five lights. If practiced, it appears as ten circles. Then it is the size of a cane handle. Then it appears as the size of a rhinoceros hide shield. Then it appears as a face. Then it appears as half a body. When five bodies appear within the thigle, it is the ripening of the thigle. E-tha! Then the light rises upright, and the rays shine, and the net, and the half net, and the many-eyed pattern, and the appearance of brocade, and the knot tip, and the fish eye, and a little bit like a mustard seed, all appear as a palace. The expanse has reached its limit. E-tha! Because of the key point that the six classes are not established from the beginning in the essence of awareness, the attachment to the six kinds of suffering is self-cut off in the appearance. Because of the key point that ignorance is not established in one's own face, the bondage of the six afflictions is self-cut off in the appearance (42). Because of the key point that object-consciousness is not established in one's own face, the attachment to the ripening of body, speech, and mind is self-cut off in the appearance. Thus, having understood that the two are inseparable, awareness is self-appearing, and its nature is without elaboration, and it abides from the beginning. The appearance without good or evil thoughts is the wisdom that purifies itself in the expanse of its own cause. Thus, it is established in one's own face. E-tha! With the instruction of introducing the Dharmakaya, that awareness itself is shown directly. With the instruction of introducing the Sambhogakaya, awareness is placed in the realm of the expanse. With the instruction of introducing the Nirmanakaya, the deluded appearance is combined with the pure land. Furthermore, believe that the Dharmakaya is one's own awareness. Believe that the Sambhogakaya arises from that, the appearance of the body and the thigles. Believe that the Nirmanakaya arises from that, and because the observer does not cease, it is known as self-appearance. E-tha! The key point of the body, within the heart, abides as body and wisdom. The key point of life, within the channels, abides as thigle. (43) The key point of the senses, in the
