The time of empowerment was taught by the lama before (322). Having thus empowered, one should have the disciple practice the instruction of manifest awareness. If done in this way, there is no doubt that both the lama and the disciple will attain Buddhahood. Thus, distinguishing the empowerments, in the arrangement of the subtle points of empowerment, the section called "Manifesting Lamp." Composed by the teacher Bema. The fourth section is complete. The glorious, supreme, immaculate teacher, Vajradhara, gathers all sentient beings who are encompassed by the four births. He ripens those who are not yet ripe and places them on the supreme path of liberation. I prostrate to the compassionate one who bestows empowerment. Therefore, in order to make the faithful individual inseparable from the emptiness of reality, these four empowerments should also be separated by days, months, years, etc., in the order of their respective sections. The respective rituals should be completed before bestowing the empowerment. Here, without elaborate proliferation, the key is to transform all discriminating appearances and awaken them into the path of pure wisdom, the measure of reality (323), where delusion appears as wisdom. That is, I prostrate to the spontaneously perfect state of non-action. And so on, is the key to the Great Perfection. Because of its completeness, it is attained in one's own manifestation, which is the key to liberating others. That is, relying on the posture of the body, because the body is free from external actions, one does not look at external objects. The mind is placed on the key of non-arising, and because the mind is free from various thoughts, one does not look at the external mind. At this time, the practice of gathering and offering tormas is called the extraordinary accumulation. By offering whatever wealth one has to the lama, the assembly of noble dakinis, and the parents of yogis, one can purify the faults of the past, future, and present, obtain goodness, and increase the two accumulations of merit and wisdom. Relying on common virtue, it is certain to perfect the extraordinary result, therefore it is supremely good. Furthermore, pleasing ordinary beings with food and drink is better than giving away immeasurable piles of gold, silver, and other precious jewels at other times. At this time, giving seven grains of rice will perfect the accumulation. Bestowing empowerment in places such as uninhabited mountain caves, etc., for individual beings, is secret.

The meaning of praise is accomplished through secrecy, which refers to the supreme accomplishment. Pleasing the Dakinis and others with large tormas and the like refers to the emergence of common accomplishments and becoming a prophecy. Offering a golden mandala to the Lama refers to the meaning of enjoying together with the assembly of Buddhas of whatever color is the Lord of the Doctrine. The Lama looking towards the east is to cause the appearance of the experience to arise. The disciple looking towards the west is a sign of the cessation and disappearance of afflictions. The disciple sitting comfortably and so on is the key to entering the wheel of bodily and verbal comfort. (325) Asking "Child, who are you?" is to symbolize with the appearance of great emptiness. The answer "Fortunate son of mind" refers to being born from the body during the time of attachment, born from the Lama's speech during the time of non-attachment, and born from the mind during the time of extreme non-attachment. Here, it is born from the emptiness of mind itself, which is beyond grasping, and it is the key to how the mind itself realizes its own nature and attains Buddhahood. It is also known that by knowing the posture of sitting, one knows the way of looking. By knowing that, one sees the Dharmata manifest. The Lama giving empowerment is opening the door to the nature of mind. Praying to the Lama to enter the mandala of mind and so on refers to the venerable and kind Lama showing me the colored powder mandala during the time of attachment, showing the body mandala during the time of non-attachment, and showing my own mandala during the time of extreme non-attachment. Here, it means please show me my own mandala of mind. When the Lama gives empowerment, (326) at the moment when the child's consciousness is distracted and lost, at the time of asking "What is mind?", the experience of clearly seeing the nature of mind arises. The lion-like posture of sitting refers to pressing down the disturbing winds by placing the soles of both feet on the ground. Straightening the body is necessary for the winds to flow comfortably. Resting the head's veins on the neck is to stop the conceptual thoughts flowing in the veins, and sitting with the hands in a dog-like posture prevents obstacles and fear from arising. Symbolizing with the elephant's way of looking and so on. It is also known that entering from the four doors of the mandala of mind, even if there is no opportunity to experience it, is self-
