In the teachings, the first of the three branches of meaning explained is: the examination of the connection between body and mind, established through reasoning. Among them, it is explained by "Whatever is the substance of the body," etc. Then, with what kind of substance is the mind connected? The nature of the body is the collection of various elements such as aggregates, realms, and sources. The definition is: because it is wandering, establishing, working, or impermanent, it is called body. What kind of body is it? For the body, from the previous body to the body containing the four elements and minute particles, one can recognize that the present body is not the previous body; later, if one does not understand the key points, one will take and discard this non-body. Therefore, this present body will depart, so it is called body. There are four divisions: the precious secret body, which is the collection of Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya; the wisdom illusory (121) body, which exists in the Sambhogakaya. Or, the precious one is the Dharmakaya, and the wisdom illusion is the Rupakaya itself. The body of conceptual imprints exists in sentient beings. The body of mere consciousness exists in cessation and a part of the formless realm. Among conceptual imprints, there is the body of luminous light, which exists in the gods of clear light. The body of flesh and blood and coarse matter exists in humans and animals. The body of remembrance and following exists in ordinary pretas. The body of mere consciousness exists in the formless gods. The body of suffering and affliction exists in hells. The body of the wandering mind exists in the beings of the intermediate state and ordinary pretas wandering in the sky. The characteristics and measures of these are not elaborated here. The substances of these exist separately, each in its own place, and are not elaborated here. Here, the body of flesh and blood is the collection of subtle and coarse elements and minute particles, etc. (122), which are contained by earth, water, fire, and wind. Therefore, its cause is the bodhicitta of the parents; the father as the cause becomes the basis of existence; the mother as the condition causes the four elements to gather into one. Moreover, the bodies of sentient beings are different, because the cause is not the same, born from different parents; the conditions are not the same, so there is no similarity, because the color and shape, etc., are different. The body is not the same, and the mind is also different, which is not the case. For example, the potter's wheel makes pot

Just as countless pottery pieces are made, not one of them has the same shape and color. Similarly, the body is just a body, and if examined carefully, no two are alike. Although the pottery is different, the sky inside is of the same nature and without distinction. Likewise, the mind is one and does not transcend its essence. Body and mind are not of the same cause, so there is no explanation that cause and self-nature are the same. So why do sentient beings have different thoughts? It's like the different shapes and sizes of pottery. This is also because the vessel protects the essence, so it happens that way. The key is that the cycle of memory and thought is a sudden occurrence of concepts. Therefore, the mind did not arise from the body, because the body is an existing substance. The mind is of the nature of emptiness and is not established anywhere. Similarly, the mind is empty and without foundation, so there is no basis for reversing before and after. Without a root, there is therefore no basis for attachment to the body bound by the elements. Therefore, the body did not arise from the mind, nor did the mind arise from the body. Thus, since there is no connection between body and mind, they do not reverse before and after, the future naturally disappears, and the present is empty in emptiness, and ceases where it ceases. Because of this reason, how could the mind arise from the body? The mind has no cause, and emptiness is pure from the beginning. Therefore, there is nothing that is not understood, except being bound by sectarianism, saying "this is to be realized" and "this is to be abandoned." Therefore, I realize through wisdom that body and mind are not related, which is the Dharma nature free from worldly desires. (124) The foundation of samsara is gone, and the source of nirvana is cut off. This is the first summary meaning of the second point, the first meaning is the examination of the connection between body and mind, shown together with the reasons. Now, the second meaning is that through examples and teachings, because the path is exhausted, the basis of practice also disappears. Teachings and examples are also shown through "teachings and examples," etc. Teaching refers to relying on the teaching of cutting off the second recollection, observing the natural state of Dharma nature. The meaning lies in placing things in their own nature. For example, the teaching like the complete wings of a garuda shows no action and effort. The example of liberation is like liberation from the shackles of a king. By it, observing the natural state of the mind, the essence is naked and towering.
