Regarding the initial severing of the connection with the physical body, thereby demonstrating liberation from the realm of form, it is: Shown by "the basis of body, speech, and mind being complete," and so on. Body refers to the coarse aggregate of form composed of subtle elements and minute particles. Like a heap of grains, it is composed of various things. Therefore, in order to make its characteristics disappear, one relies on the ritual of breaking the connection between body and mind to seek the source of the Dharma nature. Speech, relying on the application of sound, is transformed into various explanations of vowels and consonants. Because it enters into the various complexities of words, therefore, by understanding it, one applies it to explanation. In order to make it empty, by cutting off speech, one relies on the ritual of destroying the illusory wheel house of speech, giving rise to the unspeakable meaning in the continuum (95). Mind enters into the formless, entering into everything. If one examines the cause, one cannot find it. The wheel of flowing thoughts and reflections produces various sudden thoughts. In order to make its characteristics disappear, one relies on the ritual of destroying the place of dissipation, the abode of Dharma nature, the place of change, and various sudden houses, making the basis of conceptual thought empty. The so-called "basis being complete" refers to relying on the ritual of destroying those houses, thereby losing the source of the three realms. Realm refers to the various things that are gathered and combined. Three refers to the number. The desire realm refers to arising from the nature of desire; the form realm refers to arising from clinging to the nature of hatred; the formless realm refers to arising from clinging to the nature of ignorance. These three are led by body, speech, and mind. The profound place is composed of karma and habitual tendencies. A faithful person who wants to return, who has the fortune of the Great Perfection of self-nature, and who possesses diligence (96). One who wants to empty the outflows arising from the body. Arising from the uncorrected mind that abides in self-nature, the minute particles on which the body depends are separated from clinging to self-nature. Because the related causal things are empty. Therefore, the key point initially produced by cause, through wisdom, will not be destroyed by ordinary conditions. Understanding it as the self-nature of emptiness. Initially, it is not produced by cause, therefore there is no return for the result. Ultimately, it will not be destroyed by conditions, therefore the Dharma nature has no birth. Thus, cause and condition

By examining the body as devoid of inherent existence, one realizes its true nature. Observing its aggregation is like dismantling a house. Form is the distinction of colors; shapes are various forms; the body is the realm composed of many aspects of the body's parts. Since this is so, who would not wish to be liberated from it? By examining the causes and conditions of the body, one enters the state of liberation. Why is this? Because there is no basis, there is no turning back; because there is no essential core, cyclic existence is impossible. Therefore, without abandoning anything, the play of spontaneously arising wisdom (97) will appear impartially. This is the first branch, showing liberation from the form realm by severing the connection with the physical body. Now, the second branch is to show liberation from the desire realm by relying on the key point of severing the connection with fame and speech. Speech, initially without a cause for expression, renders the basis of words empty. Expression, especially the dependence on connections, ceases naturally. Desiring to be liberated from attachment to words, the manifestation of the nature of reality, which does not abide in one's own continuum, will appear under various conditions. The meaning of what is said dissolves into the basis of the mind, and the force of karma and habitual tendencies is exhausted. In this way, by realizing the nature of speechlessness, one does not cling to expression merely as words. Because its nature has no cause, the basis for turning back diminishes, and the activity of the mind that dispels external conditions vanishes. Therefore, the result of speech, the nature of words, cannot be known by either what is said or what can be said. Thus, this person, along with the false clinging to the words of the desire realm, the wisdom of speculation (98), and the aggregates, are empty from the beginning. There is no turning back, like throwing an object into the sky. Abiding in such an unconditioned state of wisdom is like the later waves of a river not returning to the place of the earlier waves. Where does this come from? It arises from knowing the nature of the causes and conditions of speech as non-existent from the beginning. This is the second branch, showing liberation from the desire realm by relying on the key point of severing the connection with fame and speech. Now, the third branch is to show liberation from the formless realm by relying on the key point of severing the connection with the activities of the mind, that is, severing the connection with the various wheels of thoughts and reflections. It is explained by "making the mind empty," and so on. The mind, along with the entering branches, enters the state of non-existence and cannot determine the nature of existence, so it is empty.
