In the picture, observe the object and observe the essence; do not observe the sound of awareness, but observe the essence of awareness. Observing the object, from the outer space (292) to the lamp of the Dharmadhatu. The essence is the Vajra Chain of Awareness; the Dharmadhatu and Awareness are inseparable, holding and knowing in the realm of space; meeting with the ultimate warmth sign of the unchanging great nail, great measure, and great heat sign. Touching it does not separate; therefore, like the inside of the Dharmadhatu like a house, the awareness like its owner floats; with an unattached mind, knowing that the nail appears to be nailed in; seeing clearly, it is called the letter of seeing one's own essence. Looking straight is the meaning of seeing; the measure of complete practice is threefold: the three measures of seeing and the measure of habituation; the measure of stability of the three is also shown in three ways. The object or nature of awareness, the measure of seeing is light; the unchanging blue-black is the measure of the Dharmadhatu; relying on the pure lamp of the Dharmadhatu, the letter Naro (ན་རོ་, Devanagari: naro, Roman transliteration: naro, literal meaning: Naro), the basis of awareness is established, round and rotating, bright like a peacock feather, the pulse throbbing and self-arising, is the measure of the lamp; flickering and flowing is the measure of awareness; it should be known at the time of the seeing eye of the Vajra Chain. (293) Habituation, the measure of the power of practice in this is also threefold: in the pure lamp of the blue-black Dharmadhatu, the five colors spread widely; what appears from the eye to the front of the space at a distance of one cubit: the first is the measure of awareness habituating to the object. Then become extremely familiar with this; and constantly practice, the appearance of a square like a fence or like the shape of the object; this is the measure of extreme habituation; practicing without changing this, then the area of the object, no matter how far the arrow is, can be measured; extremely habituated to this, looking without leaving this; the appearance of everything seen by the eye is light; arising is the attainment of the measure of habituation to the Dharmadhatu. From the round rotating Bindu empty lamp, the patterns of brocade arise; when it appears at the height of one span from the tip of one's own nose: for beginners, first learning the lamp (294) itself is the measure of habituation; from this upwards to the space between the eyebrows; when the Bindu is as clear as a mirror: it is the measure of intermediate habituation; the appearance is light.

Wherever it pervades, everything is in bindus. From the east, like a white bird spreading its wings, when it stays firmly, it is the measure of extreme habituation. There is no other way to practice this. The nature of awareness is like a continuous thread, like a bird or pigeon just flying, it is the measure of initial habituation to appearance. Then, diligently practice on that same immovable three (states), like a wild musk deer running on the grass, just being the same as that, is the intermediate habituation, a more stable measure than the previous one. That same one, again and again, is viewed in connection with the immovable three, like a bee circling the nectar of a flower, this is extracting the essence, and from there, looking with the eyes, staying in that place, it is the measure of extremely mixed appearance and (295) habituation. It is the measure of extremely true and correct habituation. Agitation is a sign of the wind cluster of awareness and wisdom, and there is no flickering, day and light, and night and darkness are not like that, but always in a state of non-appearance, that is called reaching the measure of extreme habituation. The appearance of the body is like a continuous thread, in the gaps like joints, the power of wisdom matures, it is called being nailed. Inside a bindu the size of a mustard seed, the body appears extremely subtle, and one body appears in each bindu, thus maturing, like a chick breaking out of an egg, when all appearances appear as the body, awareness and the three kayas merge inseparably, it is called the measure of stability. Earth, water, fire, and wind, all appearances like this become body and wisdom and appear, and the appearances of the four elements, earth, stones, mountains, rocks, and men, women, etc., disappear after obstruction, the light of the intention of the five colors and the inseparable dharmadhatu awareness, when it appears in the place (296) where it is viewed, the dharmadhatu is that the four elements subside in their own place, being nailed by the nature of reality, it is the measure of stability. One's own body of light, one's own body also appears as light, on top of that generality, on top of the top, like an overturned container, like nine layers stacked, bindus stacked, one appearing on top of the other, it is the measure of the lamp maturing. When it appears upwards, it is the measure of the lamp being stable. That same seeing is inseparable from seeing, meditation increases from shallow to deep, and merging with it is the conduct. Speech is mantra, and the mudra is the body's
