If practicing, practice by the person with support; if practicing on an object, practice without attachment to appearances; if practicing in this way, practice on all dharmas as being without inherent existence; if attaining, attain the fruit of the equality of taste of appearances without attainment. The nature of reality itself also has four aspects: By whom is it practiced? It is practiced by the fortunate yogi; on what is it practiced? It is practiced on the great clarity of appearance and emptiness; how is it practiced? It is practiced without separation from awareness; what is attained? The intention of appearances arising as pure lands is attained. There are also two fruits: the common fruit of dharma and the fruit of the nature of reality itself. There are four common aspects: What is attained? Emptiness is attained; by whom is it attained? It is attained by the person who is the basis of the practitioner; how is it attained? It is attained like a jewel going to the golden island (189); what is the necessity of attainment? There is the necessity of the fruit not reverting to the cause. There are also four aspects of self-nature: What is attained? The three bodies are attained without separation; by whom is it attained? It is attained by one's own awareness; how is it attained? It is attained like a king occupying the throne; what is the necessity of attainment? There is the necessity of the fruit not reverting to the cause, being completely perfect without extremes; what is perfected? The fortunate one is perfected; by what is it perfected? It is perfected by this dharma of the lamp; how is it perfected? Without attachment to view, without focus on meditation, without clinging to conduct, the fruit is that the five objects and five senses, etc., purify the objects, so that external confusion does not harm, and there is no obstruction to the objects, etc. Without abandoning or attaining, the wisdom of knowledge is completely perfected. What is taught by clearly separating view and meditation is: There are four views: the external view, looking at the object (190) causes confusion, looking at the basis of confusion causes confusion, by mixing the two without confusion, the oral instructions from oneself upwards. The oral instructions for relaxing the six consciousnesses, the self-liberation of meditation taught through the five gates, relaxing, form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and the basis of memory, looking at the mind that is not confused in the center of the heart, is the oral instruction of direct knowledge, like the turbidity of water clearing, the self-liberation of afflictions, looking at the self-purified realm of reality and awareness, with the oral instruction of the unchanging jewel, all objects dissolve into awareness like clouds dissolving in the sky. There is no addition or subtraction to the realm of reality. Self-purification, and the internal view is the mind.

By looking, awareness is purified in its own place; by the secret view, by looking at the way things naturally abide, afflictions are purified in their own place; by the supreme secret view, by looking at awareness, all objects and phenomena are purified in their own place. There are four meditations: the outer meditation of the exhaustion of continuous memory, establishing the objects of the five senses; the inner meditation on the essential heart of self-aware awareness, where body and wisdom (191) reside; not liberated by the elements, but the body is liberated as an illusory body; the meditation on the expanse, appearances appear as the Dharmakaya, but by familiarizing oneself with the expanse of one's own place, appearances are brought under control. By familiarizing oneself with the body and awareness, memory is brought under control. By introducing transcendence, memory vanishes on its own, appearances are naked, awareness is immediate, and delusion is purified. There is a need to turn away from attachment to appearances. By the pure meditation, the source of the mind's movement is cut off; by the secret meditation on unborn self-abiding, establishing one's own body as the deity's body; by the supreme secret meditation on the self-liberation of appearances, establishing all appearances as the Dharmakaya. There are four conducts: the outer conduct, recognizing appearances as self-purifying delusions; the inner conduct, recognizing mind-essence awareness as self-liberating; the secret conduct, recognizing expanse-awareness as self-liberating; the supreme secret conduct, recognizing Dharmata and wisdom as self-liberating. Memory is the basis, non-memory is the path; with diligent (192) mind, there is a need to turn away from attachment. Memory is non-appearance, non-awareness, emptiness, unborn, non-dual, transcendent, self-recognition, view, meditation, attachment, there is a need to turn away from attachment, obtaining the illusory body, memory is awakening, non-memory is falling asleep, the unborn is merged with clear light, transcendence is the instruction of the unborn. Since all memories have become self-purified, there is a need to turn away from all tenets and words. Knowing attachment as the Dharmakaya, one's own body naturally abides in the three bodies, seeing the body as uncreated, it is the Nirmanakaya. The result is that appearances and awareness do not move. Again, there are four: the outer result, the body appears as the Dharmakaya, appears as the Sambhogakaya, appears as the Nirmanakaya. Liberated in the three bodies, all the contrived phenomena of inner delusion, the instruction of self-liberating awareness, the result of pure generation stage.
