This is the instruction that turns back death itself. I have practiced it, turning back death three times at the time of death. Therefore, for a friend who practices, not relying on others, I have written these. Although the self-nature of Ati is free from all elaborations, until the defilements of sentient beings' minds are exhausted, these are also conventional truths. In the ultimate truth itself, there is freedom from the suffering of birth and death. This was said by Shri Singha. The Indian Abbot Vimalamitra translated it into its own natural sound. Gya, Gya, Gya! In the language of India: Ghṛtṛpasaṃhinām (Sanskrit Devanagari: घृतृपसंहिनाम्, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: ghṛtṛpasaṃhinām, literal meaning in Chinese: ghee satisfaction). In Tibetan: Called "The Essence of View." Homage to the great emptiness, which is naturally accomplished through skillful means. The great bliss of all Buddhas, having established it manifestly, in the measure of habituating the clear seeing of appearances, if one practices with bias and does not trust in the meaning, then direct your mind in this way. Because the way things abide is self-purified by mindfulness, it is free from the extremes of existence and non-existence, and there are no sounds, words, or names. There is no possibility of the extremes of action, agent, and fabrication. Even if only one aspect of those meanings is explained, it will be taught based on the words of the lama. Kyema, Kyema! Dakini (556) who follows, listen! Without this essence of the secret instruction that has been repeatedly gathered, a person who places confidence in the outer, inner, and secret is like a person who holds a corpse without the essence of consciousness to be real. Therefore, I have taught the heart essence of the twelve wondrous laughter tantras. Listen without distraction! Look at the view of self-arisen wisdom! It is wondrous to be beyond virtue, vice, view, and meditation! Without moving the base, whatever actions of body and speech are done are free from benefit and harm. Haha! Look at the wisdom of the Dharmakaya, emptiness, all-pervading! It is wondrous that there is no birth and that it is co-emergent from the beginning! Even if a person takes up weapons and liberates beings at once, there is no benefit or harm to the continuum of the individual. Haha! Look at the wisdom of awareness, emptiness, all-appearing! It is wondrous that whatever appears arises as one's own friend! Whatever appears does not move from its own base. Haha! Look at the appearance of awareness, emptiness, all-liberating! It is wondrous to be great in oneself as one's own relative (557)! The afflictions are self-liberated by themselves. Haha! Awareness is empty from the beginning, all-

Look at the essence of awareness! It's amazing to effortlessly attain the fruit! Once grasped, all of samsara and nirvana are purified in non-duality, Ha! Ha! Look at the essence of great emptiness, the measure of all that is posited! It's amazing that the six realms appear as the three kayas! It's amazing that beings, without meditating even as much as a mote of dust, attain Buddhahood in a single instant, Ha! Ha! Look at the fruit of the three kayas, the great emptiness, the primordial perfection! It's amazing that the three times are inseparable! It's amazing that without practicing the six paramitas, the accumulations are perfected in a single instant, Ha! Ha! Look at the great, naked awareness, the wisdom of all-sameness! It's amazing that all actions arise as ornaments! It's amazing that all rejection and acceptance are liberated by the view, Ha! Ha! Look at the emptiness of emptiness, the great primordial emptiness! It's amazing that all Buddhas dwell on the edge of a precipice! It's amazing that actions and meditation become causes for falling, Ha! Ha! Look at the emptiness that is not empty, the substantial! (558) It's amazing that the vehicle grasps at non-existence as self! It's amazing to attain the unborn through birth, Ha! Ha! It's amazing that the twelfth laughter of wonder is complete, using the basis of the view, the object of emptiness, the substantial, as the path. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Ema Listen!) Ema, listen! Without seeing this definitive understanding of the supreme great secret, a person who confidently asserts the three secrets, inner, outer, and secret, is like someone without an eye in their forehead, even if they want to see. Therefore, it is important to become familiar with the nine boasts of the ground. On the unchanging ground, memory is self-purifying, blocking the arising of non-memory, transcending mind, and severing the continuation of birth; this arises as a word of boasting. The self-arisen Dharmakaya, the appearance of other-arising is self-purifying; sound, smell, and taste cause one to transcend suffering; this arises as the essence of all teachings, and is a word of boasting. The basis of self-arising afflictions becomes the essence of all dharmas; confusion is purified in its own place; this arises as a word of boasting. Attachment causes all objects to be seen as one; appearance is self-arisen; this arises as a word of boasting. That (559) itself is without separation, and from the beginning dwells as the lord of all appearances; the five senses are purified in their own place; this arises as a word of boasting. Skillful in concise writing, gathered by wisdom without separation, practicing in non-elaboration; this arises as a word of boasting. The view of letting go of all dharmas is connected with intention; this arises as a word of boasting of the view. All addition and subtraction are severed in a single instant.
