Presented to the ear is like the cuckoo singing in the ear of a thin sheep; With the four meanings of ultimate secrecy, the essence of the fruit is brought down, like grasping the life force from the key point; The seventeen great secret tantras, if a yogi knows them, are like opening the door to a rich man's treasury; Those seventeen essential points of meaning, when combined with the text of the great tantras, are like an elephant skillfully using its trunk; The four kinds of explanatory instructions, when planted in the minds of beings, are like a waterfall cascading from the king of mountains; Especially with the seventeen instructions, if one person is controlled, it is like a lamp in a dark cave; With the feather letters of magical letters, combining the meanings of vowels and consonants, it is like translating the sound of the Kalapingka bird; The two aspects of primordial purity and spontaneous presence, if the tenets are combined, it is like a king entering a castle; The six kinds of speaking weapons (45), when speaking with others, are like a sharp sword tempered with sesame oil; The two practices of inner and outer bindu guidance, whoever becomes familiar with them, is like a king ruling over red land; With the instructions of the four sessions, if one awakens to the path, it is like a person who has abandoned activities; With the teachings of the four ways of abiding, if a yogi seeks the place of awareness, it is like going to the top of a high mountain; With the five kinds of last testaments, using them as the path at the time of death, it is like a great thunderbolt falling to the earth; A person who possesses all of these, if they abandon activities and observe, it is like encountering an inexhaustible treasure; Therefore, these letters, yogis should keep secret and practice; In a very secluded place, abide like a humble wild animal; In a place far from bustle, abide like an ordinary person; In a place without enemies or friends, abide like a beggar; In a place without a specific aim (46), abide as you please; Emaho! Seeing the ground has no root, seeing the nature of reality has no meditation, seeing awareness has no instruction, seeing appearance has no view, seeing meaning has no compassion, seeing mind has no action, seeing birth and death has no virtue or vice, seeing phenomena has no Buddha, seeing delusion has no hell, seeing myself has nothing; Practice is a secret book, at the head of all instructions, written by Sri Singha, called "A Lamp Summarizing the Essential Instructions."

The great commentary on the meaning of all activities, "Iti"! Gya, Gya, Gya! May the mantra's protector, Ekajati, and the hat-adorned lord, the master of vows, protect! Entrusting it to you! May I meet with a fortunate one! I, the madman Lhetsun, having practiced alone in the mountains, cut off the single root. Having abandoned the bustling servants, appearance dawns as a friend. The instructions are not sold for wealth (47), the blessings are of great light. Having brought all phenomena to exhaustion, I am free from both view and meditation. Having practiced the four sounds, the elements cannot be overcome by enemies. Having practiced the instructions according to the scriptures, various siddhis are accomplished. Now there is no difference between liberation and non-liberation! Emaho! ༄༅ ! The lamp of clear focus abides here! In Sanskrit: Bhangalangmamagiduyam! In Tibetan: The lamp that clarifies the focus, because of the precious instructions. Homage to the nature of the three kayas! The view without limits or partiality, and the meditation in which appearances are pure in their own place, and the conduct without grasping or separation, and the meaning of the fruit, which is without effort and already liberated. This compilation of experiential practices is shown for the benefit of fortunate individuals. Sarva Tathagata Apaye! Kyema! Sons of the lineage, believe in this way! The precious garland of instructions that makes one see one's own awareness as vipashyana (48) is: First, if one does not trust in the naked seeing of awareness, there is a risk of bad and wrong views arising, so one should first study the instructions on training the mind in bodhichitta. Then, when the signs of warmth from having tamed the mind are established, guide them on the path with the instructions of other secret mantras, and divide individuals into those with attachment and those without attachment, and train in the channels, winds, and bindus. Thus, when the signs of warmth of the channels and winds are established, one should turn awareness away from the elements with the instructions of cutting off the stream of memory. Thus, having turned away from the five elements, with the instructions of the hidden eye-opener, observe the way of abiding of conduct, meditation, view, and fruit. Thus, having observed the general and specific ways of abiding of view and meditation, with the instructions of the lamp that gathers conduct, establish one's own conduct in four ways. Thus, having found the warmth of conduct, now the nature of mind abides in samadhi.
