Pao! The words of the essential instructions on steps, the unchanging intention, not losing to the power of outer and inner thoughts, abiding in the intention of non-thought, without the possibility of error, controlling the limits, the intention of introduction abiding in itself, the fruit is the intention of primordial purity, not dependent on anything else. Seeing the face of Vajrasattva through six means is complete. May I meet a fortunate one! Iti! Sarva A! Dha Thi. To manifestly train in awareness is to become accustomed to the means. I prostrate to the uncontaminated bindu body that is liberated from the demon of the aggregates! For the sake of exhausting the outflows of the aggregates and afflictions. All the necessities of turning the mind away from these tenets of permanence and annihilation, etc. Whatever desires there are, all are considered with the mind as existent and non-existent (361), because of delusion. This instruction of the non-elaborate guru pervades body and mind with bliss. All those such as permanence and annihilation are merely imputed, they are not established in reality. Those who establish themselves as good by doing evil, such as the Shravakas and others, are no different from the Tirthikas. The nine vehicles of the Shravakas and others are all self-proclaimed. Because they have not abandoned grasping and being grasped, they do not even reach a particle of permanence and annihilation. This sphere of bindus, all outer, inner, and secret. Because they have not seen awareness in the true sense, they do not even touch a particle. The words and letters arranged in the texts. Then, is that tantra unnecessary? If you ask, this is just a method of guiding, not a true view. Because it is devoid of practice, one cannot become enlightened by oneself, all those categories are gathered in this essential instruction (362). Alas, alas, sons of the lineage, listen! Because of the fear of not believing in the meaning of direct awareness, the mind does not incline towards the appearance of direct awareness, train like this, first train in awareness, those who are of inferior faculties, inclined towards the Lesser Vehicle, and of weak fortune, some may not believe in this, it may happen in future lives. For the sake of those who are to see and become accustomed to awareness, one should train in the methods of entering this. In a solitary place, in a place without conditions, abandoning outer and inner activities. Abandoning the fears of meditation such as the outer, inner, and secret of the body, in a place without discomfort and wavering.

We should practice purifying the mind. There are seven aspects to this: contemplate impermanence, meditate on death for about seven days, contemplate the death of relatives and friends in the homeland, realizing that nothing remains, and think, "I too will die like this." Practice purifying the mind, and for about five days, contemplate the temporary happiness and lasting happiness, realizing that the happiness of this world is only slight, brief, and momentary, and that we should attain the happiness of the future. Practice purifying the mind, and as a condition, for three days, contemplate that there is nothing that does not become a cause of suffering, contemplate the mother, and practice purifying the mind. Contemplate that all actions are meaningless, and for three days, no matter what you contemplate, there is nothing that does not become a cause of death. If you do not practice the Dharma for death, nothing else will be of benefit, so practice purifying the mind. Contemplate the qualities of the Buddha, and if you practice the Dharma, you will attain such qualities of the Buddha, so practice purifying the mind. For three days, contemplate the instructions of the Lama, thinking, "The Lama has instructed me in this way, why should I not act accordingly?" Practice purifying the mind. Contemplate non-discrimination, and even if the mind abides for a moment, such happiness will arise in me, so practice purifying the mind for three days. (364) ཐབ་འུཾ༔ (Tibetan) དྷཱབྷཱུྃ (Sanskrit Devanagari) dhabhum (Sanskrit Romanization) pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and destroying (Literal Chinese meaning). If asked, what is the need for these? Contemplating the impermanence of samsara, there is a need to generate renunciation from "ba"; practicing lasting happiness, there is a need to generate renunciation from suffering; constantly contemplating death and not practicing conditions, there is a need to act beforehand; contemplating that all the enjoyments of the Lama's samsara are the cause of suffering, there is a need to enter into the instructions; practicing the qualities of the Buddha, there is a need to be able to endure "ba"; contemplating the instructions of the Lama, there is a need not to be attached to actions; practicing non-discrimination, there is a need to increase the Bodhicitta more and more. Showing the measure of practice, the measure of the arising of Bodhicitta is: all conditioned phenomena are impermanent and will die, this thought arises in the mind; all worldly phenomena are the cause of suffering, meaningless, and constantly suffering, this thought arises in the mind; all sentient beings of the six realms wander in samsara (365).
