Due to the connection with tiny pores, the movement of wind arises (392). When the sound of wisdom, bearing the burden, appears at each gate, thoughts arise, and this is the lung. The wind is like a blind, lame horse, and the sound of wisdom is like a person with eyes riding on it, mixing together and scattering to various realms. The path is the vein connecting from the heart to the lung, and from the lung connecting to each gate. The gates are the mouth and nose, the gates through which breath flows in and out; the gates through which objects appear are the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body. The objects are form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. The function is to manifest as afflictions, thereby creating the illusion of samsara, generating cause and effect. The nature of the basis of the mind's manifestation is wisdom, but the nature of its function manifests as grasping and being grasped, therefore it is called mind. When the mind ceases, the nature of wisdom becomes clear, therefore it is called non-conceptual wisdom. One should know this nature. From the burning corpse in the charnel ground, the nature of mind is wisdom, and in it, grasping and being grasped manifest as function. With breath as the horse, encountering conditions. The place resides in a windy city. The path runs through the throat. The gates manifest as the five gates of desire. Conditions give rise to various thoughts (393). The function is grasping and being grasped, creating samsara. Thus it is said. Furthermore, if the root of the mind is cut, it will reach wisdom, therefore, this is the key to manifesting as empty, clear, and free from elaboration. The moving part of the sound when objects appear is the mind, and the knowing part is wisdom, and the knowing part and wisdom are inseparable, therefore there is no one and other. As it is said in the Kunsel: Mind and wisdom are two aspects, neither one nor different, they are dharmas that are difficult to distinguish. Mind is the function of wisdom, the basis of mind is wisdom. Therefore, mind and wisdom, from one and other, are called liberation and non-liberation. In short, the place of the mind is the lung, the gates are the veins and the five senses, including the mouth and nose, the path is the veins, the objects are the six aggregates, and the function is illusion. The knowing sound within the heart is moved by the wind of wisdom and manifests as luminosity, self-awareness manifests as the path to liberation from suffering; the knowing sound within the heart is moved by the wind of karma, with the horse as the function, it manifests as thoughts (394), and due to ignorance, it manifests as the path to delusion in samsara. In the Two Truths it says: Mind and mind

The third aggregate: It is the conceptualization of the imputed nature. As it is said, some people think that the mind must be stopped, but the cessation of the mind is manifested by the body. This means that temporarily manifesting with the non-discriminating self-aware body, the path appears as luminosity. Ultimately, the body and wisdom are inseparable, manifesting as the Dharmakaya, thereby perfecting the qualities of transcending suffering. Therefore, it is crucial to distinguish between mind and wisdom. Secondly, there are two aspects to practicing the path: practicing the distinction between mind and wisdom in this life, and the stages of spontaneously accomplished luminosity that appear in the bardo. First, there are two: practicing the mind as self-luminous and without grasping, and practicing wisdom as luminous and spontaneously accomplished. The first is: Stare intently at the very awareness of the six aggregates appearing in the objects, and relax and release the mind (395) without grasping. The radiance of awareness will naturally dissolve, and experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought will arise from within. Furthermore, by resting on the radiance, separate awareness from the winds, and remain in a state of non-thought. By going to its own place in the luminosity of the heart, the mind dissolves into wisdom, which is called the primordial abiding of the mind itself. By becoming accustomed to this, afflictions dissolve into wisdom, which is called the primordial perfection of luminosity. Many experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-discrimination will also arise. Secondly: In a dark room or in the light, sit in the lotus position or squat, fix your eyes on the space about an arm's length in front of you, let the breath flow gently without deliberately seeking it, focus the mind on space, and without thinking anything, relax and meditate in the great perfection of the original mind. If it is a dark room, you will see appearances of smoke, mirages, rainbows, lightning, bindus, and deities. If it is in the light, rainbows, bindus, nets, half nets (396), lotuses, stupas, and Buddha images will appear. When these appear, do not move your eyes, focus on the mind itself, and meditate without distraction. The empty-clear, self-arisen wisdom, free from the limits of elaboration, will arise from within. At that time, immeasurable experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought will also arise; do not cling to the joy.
