Like the sound of a thousand thunders roaring, and like a mirage shimmering in the open field under the scorching sun, and like a rain of swords falling from the light, the terrifying appearance of wrathful deities fills the sky. (401) Knowing all these as self-manifestations, like reflections in a mirror, and abiding in this state, one attains Buddhahood in the form of a wrathful deity. If one does not recognize this, one will be frightened by the sound, terrified by the light, scared by the rays, and fainted by the form. Second, after that, the resonance of the five wisdoms and the appearance of the five lights arise, and the peaceful deities appear in sequence. In the "All-Illuminating," it says: The non-abiding wisdom Dharmakaya, possessing the nature of the five wisdoms, the self-born wisdom of the five elements, arises in the realm of the purity of Dharma. The five colors of the bindu light, the five colors such as blue, are clear. Know the essence of the five Buddha families. The five bodies are complete with the wisdom body. The forty-two deities are clear in the light. Residing in the resonance of their respective wisdoms. Clear, radiant, beautiful, and dazzling with light. The immeasurable palace of the five wisdoms. Clarity, warmth, coolness, vastness, and lightness are the lords of pervading. The spontaneously arising wisdom aggregates blaze. The three seats are uncreated and complete in the base. Emanations arise from the three unions (402), dispelling the darkness of sentient beings' ignorance. Thus it is said. At that time, recognize it as self-manifestation. Abiding in that state, one is liberated in the third instant. From the state of the Sambhogakaya of one's own mind, the three seats of body, speech, and mind, purified by the union of wisdom, from the womb of the mother, emanate the six Thubpas (capable ones) in the ten directions, accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, and scattering various emanations in the ten directions, thus benefiting sentient beings. Thus it is said. If we elaborate on the appearance of the five families, first, when seeing the blue light, in the moment of recognizing it as self-manifestation and abiding in equanimity, the mandala of the cluster of Vairochana appears. In the Golden Garland of Garab Dorje, it says: White, yellow, red, and green, holding characteristics, reside in the center, each one also appears as four. Vajra, Ratna, Padma, and Vajra cross are clear in the heart. The consort is also in the form of body and shadow, in the manner of completion on the base seat. This is the first cluster mandala. Thus (403), with Vairochana as the center, one is liberated in the state surrounded by the other four. Second, the white light.

When appearances arise, recognizing them as one's own light, one is liberated into mirror-like wisdom, and the mandala of Akshobhya becomes clear. As it is said: "Vajra Akshobhya dwells in the center, surrounded by Kshitigarbha Lasya (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Essence of Earth), Maitreya Dhupa (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Incense), these four. This is the second mandala of the assembly." So it is said. Third, when the yellow light recognizes its own essence, one realizes equality wisdom and is liberated into Ratnasambhava. As it is said: "Ratnasambhava dwells in the center, surrounded by Akashagarbha Male (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Essence of Space), Samantabhadra Pushpe (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Flowers), these four. This is the third mandala of the assembly." So it is said. Fourth, when the red light recognizes its own essence, it arises as discriminating wisdom, and one is liberated into Amitabha. As it is said: "Amitabha dwells in the center, surrounded by Avalokiteshvara Giti (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Song), Manjushri Marme (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Lamp), these four. This is the fourth (404) mandala of the assembly." So it is said. Fifth, when the green light recognizes its own essence, it arises as accomplishing wisdom, and one is liberated into Amoghasiddhi. As it is said: "Amoghasiddhi dwells in the center, surrounded by Vajrapani Nirti (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Dance), Nivarana-Vishkambhin Gandhe (藏文,梵文天城體,梵文羅馬擬音,Scent), these four. This is the fifth mandala of the assembly." So it is said. Third, the secret treasury of jewels: From that spontaneously arising treasury of jewels, within what resembles the sun and moon surrounded by radiance, upwards, the foundation for the manifestation of the mandala assembly, the appearance of primordial purity Dharmakaya is like the sky, directly white, the Sambhogakaya is like a rainbow. Downwards, in the appearance of the six realms, the six Thubpas (Buddhas) manifest various emanations to accomplish the benefit of beings, etc. The spontaneously arising appearances arise in the instant of recognizing one's own essence. From the mandala assembly, the radiance of the four gatekeepers and the six Thubpas appears. As it is said: "For the sake of manifesting similarity, arising from that and that, body color and hand implements are in accordance with the principal deity. The six Thubpas who tame the six realms, the four gatekeepers who tame with the four immeasurables, the four mothers who liberate from the four extremes, (405) because space and wisdom are inseparable, Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri are clear. The aggregates of thoughts are liberated into the five qualities of the body." So it is said. At that time, upwards, because the Dharmakaya, space, and wisdom are inseparable, the self-light, indigo Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri are non-dual in the appearance of primordial purity. Directly, the mandala of the five families, the dense and magnificent Akaniṣṭha.
