Even though the uninterrupted three bodies can be represented by any single example, in order to explain it very clearly, the nature of all phenomena is introduced through three aspects using four examples. First, the Dharmakaya is represented by the example of a manas-shel (a type of gem) as being empty, clear, luminous, and without impurities. Just as the light of a manas-shel appears when the sun rises, it is without impurities and completely transparent, so too is wisdom without impurities and completely transparent. Just as it has no color, essence, or identifiable characteristics, so too does wisdom have no essence or identifiable characteristics. Just as it does not actually have light but has primordial radiance in its nature, although light, body color, and wisdom are not established in the emptiness aspect of wisdom, its natural radiance is inseparable from body and wisdom. After saying this, the five lights that appear when the sun's rays are directed towards it are an example of the Sambhogakaya (364). The white, subtle light is an example of compassionate wisdom. The purity of essence is an example of the emptiness Dharmakaya. These arise from the nature of the shel and abide in the nature, like merging into the nature. Similarly, body and wisdom arise from the nature of the essence Dharmakaya, abide in the nature, and are introduced as merging into the nature. Second, the Sambhogakaya is introduced as a reflection. The lama enters into the attire of the Sambhogakaya, and when the student looks through a mirror, the appearance of the Sambhogakaya fills the expanse of the sky and is introduced. Just as the appearance of the five lights is clear and uninterrupted here, the existence of body and wisdom in the realm of clear light is similar. Because it has no essence or nature, being completely transparent is an example of the Dharmakaya. The appearance as body and light is an example of the Sambhogakaya. The appearance of teaching the Dharma, etc., as having aspects of wisdom is an example of the Nirmanakaya. These also gather into one basis, so they are inseparable. This is how it is explained. Third, the example of the Nirmanakaya is introduced as the union of light circles. When a mirror is held up to the sun, the five lights appear uninterrupted (365), just as the five lights are clear at this time. Know that from the nature of wisdom, from the Sambhogakaya to the Nirmanakaya, the radiance or power of compassion appears uninterruptedly. Among these, the empty, completely transparent aspect is an example of the Dharmakaya. The appearing five lights are an example of the Sambhogakaya. The rays that appear from that are an example of the Nirmanakaya. These three are of the same essence and are inseparable. Or, when a candle is held up to a mirror, the appearance is completely transparent.

It is an example of the Dharmakaya. The root butter lamp is an example of the Sambhogakaya. From that arising, appearing in the sky, radiating emanations in the ten directions is an example of the Nirmanakaya. These arise from one basis and are introduced as the nature of being inseparable. Fourth, the example of the three kayas being inseparable is introduced as the solar disk, which is symbolized by the solar disk when covered with a thin cloth. The nature of the sun is non-conceptual, an example of the Dharmakaya. The appearance of the five lights is radiant and bright, an example of the Sambhogakaya. Radiating various rays is an example of the Nirmanakaya. These three gathering in one sun is an example of the kayas and wisdom being inseparable. The knowledge of these is, in the 'Kunsel' (366): In the expanse of the heart, light shines, like a butter lamp inside a vase. The unchanging wisdom, is the Buddha of the unmistaken basis, is the supreme wisdom of meaning. The mirror of great wisdom, is the uncreated dharma nature, is the supreme wisdom of example. The wheel of rainbow light, is said to be the wisdom of signs. Thus it is said. Second, practicing the bardo of clear light samadhi has three aspects: During the day, meditating on the wisdom of meaning is: the body sits cross-legged, the two hands are crossed on the knees, the eyes gaze ahead, the mind is held on this, and by meditating without distraction, outwardly one sees light, rainbows, bindus, nets, and various patterns. Inwardly, by meditating in the state where the mind is clear and bright and the wisdom without concepts arises, one generates the experience and realization of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. At night, meditating on the wisdom of signs is: the posture is as before, the fingers cover the upper and lower parts of the eyes, gently pressing the eyeballs, gazing intently at the empty bindu (367), and by meditating without distraction, outwardly various lights appear, and inwardly, as before, one generates the meditative experience of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. During the session breaks, meditating on the wisdom of example is: on any of the three, crystal, Buddha image, or sun, determine that the three kayas are naturally present, and in the state of thinking that it is the self-appearance of the bardo, recognize it as self-appearance and let it rest naturally. In this way, in the bardo, it is necessary to easily recognize the phenomena that arise in an instant. The experience is also, because one knows the appearance as the three kayas, it appears as the great bliss pure land, etc., and various phenomena appear outwardly and inwardly. Thus, if one strives in the three practices, then at best one can be liberated in this life.
