The posture like a lion is: sitting in a majestic posture, with the fingers of both hands curled inwards, the soles of both feet placed forward (182) in the center, the neck straightened, and the eyes gazing intently at the sky above. Some people want to place the soles of their feet on the ground, squatting like, with the palms of their hands placed on the left and right sides, but it seems that they have not fully understood its meaning. The Sambhogakaya posture is like a sleeping elephant: the knees and chest are close together, and the soles of the feet are facing outwards. The elbows of the hands are propped on the ground, and the palms of the hands support the cheeks, with the eyes looking straight ahead. The Nirmanakaya posture is like a sage squatting: squatting, with the hands crossed on the knees, the palms covering the elbows, and the eyes looking slightly downwards. Whichever posture is adopted, the key is not to be bound or oppressed, but to be relaxed and at ease. The key to the door is to learn any of the three ways of looking: the Dharmakaya's way of looking, such as looking upwards at the crown of the head. The Sambhogakaya's way of looking, such as looking sideways, like a Brahmin holding up a bamboo pole. The Nirmanakaya's way of looking (183), looking slightly downwards, like a sage meditating. Whichever way of looking is adopted, the key is that the eyes should not move, but should be clear and relaxed. The key to the breath is to be extremely slow, that is, not to exhale through the nostrils, but to exhale slowly from the mouth, and the flow of inside and outside should be even. Beginners should contract slightly inwards, but not forcefully. Especially when faith, renunciation, and samadhi increase, one should slowly maintain the natural state inwards, inhaling completely without exhaling. When afflictions or unpleasant emotions arise, it is key to exhale forcefully and exhale slightly outwards. The key to the object: looking at the cloudless sky, and when the sun rises, looking at the place a cubit below the sun, and at sunset, looking at the western sky in the same way, this is in sunny weather, and beginners need to easily manifest luminosity. For the object, the key is to practice gradually shortening the distance from afar. The key to awareness: keep awareness awake, and gaze (184) at the blue sky without moving the eyes, without distraction. That is, there should be no distraction at all, and one should not fall into dullness and agitation.

To view these points is precisely correct. Second, the introduction of the main subject: Focusing on those points, in the center of the sky, the initial appearance of white mixed with colors is: "The star of wisdom shines brightly." From that, rainbow-like five-colored lights appear, as well as bindus like the iridescence of a peacock's tail, lotuses, stupas, the forms of deities, and appearances like half a net of pearls, which are inconceivable. This is: "The lamp of beings is the lamp of wisdom, a glorious mass, beautiful to behold." For those with good roots, the forms of deities and so on appear from the very beginning. Even for those with inferior roots, bindus and the chain of awareness, the vajra chain, appear, and in essence, they are similar. The vajra chain is the outward manifestation of the radiance of the wisdom light of the heart within. It is like a golden thread stretched in the sky, with tiny bindus strung between them, resembling the iridescence of a peacock's tail, or like half a net of pearls hanging down, adorned with bindus. Seeing these appearances is seeing the radiance of the heart's luminosity, which is called seeing the faces of three thousand Buddhas and realizing the meaning of manifest awareness. From then on, the cycle of rebirth from the womb is cut off, so it is called realizing the view that cuts off the cycle of rebirth. By looking at the five outer lights, the five inner poisons are liberated in an instant, so it is called seeing non-conceptual wisdom. When the nature of reality transcends the path of mental fabrication and the nature of mind is seen as luminosity, it is called seeing the meaning of the direct experience of reality. Seeing that itself is seeing one aspect of the essence of the Thus-Gone One (Tathāgata-garbha), and gradually seeing the Buddha's pure lands and so on, one becomes liberated, so it is called grasping the beginning of the path to liberation. In this way, depending on the size of the appearances, even though Bodhisattvas gradually traverse the ten Bhumis, they still do not see all the qualities of the realms (dhātu). At the time of Buddhahood, one sees the ultimate qualities of all the realms, and that is why it is called enlightenment. Therefore, from this very day, one should strive to practice. This is the introduction. Third, the subsequent practice is: Within the light channel in the center of the heart, great wisdom abides, and its essence is emptiness, inseparable from compassion and awareness, which is the self-born lamp of prajna, and its nature is clear like a rainbow.
