Furthermore, all appearances of mind, mental factors, and the mind itself are impermanent, unreal, deceptive, and unreliable. Like illusions, mirages, and reflections of the moon in water, like echoes, images, emanations, and cities of gandharvas, they are without essence, like reverberations in rocks and dreams. Like seeing hairs floating in the vision of someone with cataracts, apparent yet nonexistent, they are merely interdependent causes and conditions. Since they are without inherent existence from the very moment they appear, all phenomena of samsara are unborn from the very beginning. Just as the arising and ceasing of dreams and illusions, although they appear to arise, they are unborn and abide in emptiness. Although they appear to remain, they do not remain and are empty. Although they appear to cease, they do not cease and have no cause for cessation. Since they are nonexistent from the beginning, arising is impossible. And if there is no arising, how can there be abiding? That which does not abide can never cease. Like the arising and ceasing of a barren woman's child, they are mere names, mere conventions, merely labeled in appearance. If analyzed, form has no real parts, like a barren woman's child, it is without inherent existence. Sound, smell, taste, touch, and the objects of mind, as well as the nature of conceptual grasping of objects, if analyzed in terms of color, shape, and the three times (97), are like a barren woman's child, without real parts. Since neither one nor many can be found, they are like space, unborn and primordially pure. Thus, if analyzed, what revolves and what is revolved? What is the use of clinging to phenomena as real when there are no phenomena that revolve or places of revolution? These phenomena that appear to the mind are empty and without basis, selfless, free from elaboration, and without characteristics. Unborn from the beginning, their nature is completely pure. They are merely magical displays of all-pervading emptiness. This outer appearance has no object to be grasped, it has no real parts and is free from all inherent existence. This mind that grasps it is also unreal, without color or shape, and without any identifiable essence. Therefore, all phenomena are in the state of unborn emptiness. There is no duality of grasper and grasped, no union of the two. It is the nature of phenomena that is free from one and many. Since there is no samsara, the nirvana that appears to the mind does not exist, like a phenomenon without a basis. When the dependent is reversed, the dependent phenomenon is also reversed. Since there is no suffering, there is no nirvana. Actions, afflictions, happiness, and suffering are also delusions, like flowers in the sky, their nature is unimpeded. All are nonexistent appearances, contemplate emptiness repeatedly. In short, all phenomena included in samsara are completely imputed, therefore they are empty and without characteristics. Because their inherent existence is cut off,

Like an illusion. Know that it is truly without essence. Since such delusion is untrue and deceptive, Enter into the meaning of the unerring, non-deceptive essence. Moreover, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, both existent and nonexistent, Having ascertained their nature to be emptiness, Without thinking of anything, whether external or internal objects or mind, Meditate in that state of self-clarity, free from elaboration. The bodhicitta that cuts off hopes and fears of arising and ceasing, The meaning of being without attachment, coming, or going, will be seen. This is what is taught in all definitive sutras and tantras. It is called "cutting through all elaborations by pacifying them." Then, the reality of the meaning of Tögal is: The essence of the heart is actually made the path. That is, the very expanse of primordial self-awareness, Although its essence is empty and without characteristics, Its nature is clear, possessing bright light and color. Practice the key point of compassionate awareness (99), Like a lamp inside a vase, clear at the mouth of the vase. Like a water lamp, from within the crystal veins, The natural radiance of five lights, the radiance of bindus, is clear. It dawns in the space of pure, cloudless sky. Seeing that is seeing the radiance of awareness, Therefore, it is said to see the manifestation of reality directly. This is also naming the result after the cause, Like calling the sun's rays the sun. Without being deceived about the object to be measured, The distinction between seeing illusory appearances is: Like being attached to the light of a jewel lamp. Although it seems reversed, it has the difference of accomplishing purpose. During meditation, the appearance of clear light is said to be supreme. Ordinary appearances are delusion itself, So remaining with that, illusory appearances increase more and more. Likewise, whoever makes illusory thoughts the path, There is no time to be liberated from the cause and effect of delusion. Therefore, it is important to make the undeluded clear light appearance and The cessation of mind, wisdom, the path. Also, when remaining unwavering in equanimity, Directing the target of clear light, slightly drawing awareness, In one state of reality (100), three experiences of appearance arise. From the radiance of essence, there is no thought, free from elaboration. From the radiance of nature, self-clarity is clear and pure. From the radiance of compassion, awareness and bliss are continuous. The experience of the three kayas is equal to the limit of the sky. By becoming accustomed to that, from the four visions, First, at the time of the direct manifestation of reality, The path of accumulation is the same as realization, The attachment to body, feeling, mind, and phenomena is naturally freed. The key to increasing virtue
