How difficult! To all phenomena that appear clearly in absence, Attachment and clinging arise from grasping at substantial characteristics. Revolving for a long time, yet still not knowing liberation, Sentient beings without beginning or end are truly pitiable. Thus, all beings deluded by nonexistent appearances, In the primordially unborn, naturally pure essence, For the sake of purifying adventitious stains, the Victorious Ones' teachings exist, Those teachings that accord with each individual's mind are proclaimed. The meaning of the unchanging essence that becomes the pinnacle, Transcends existence and nonexistence, emptiness and non-emptiness. The intention of being free from bias, like the sky, Is unparalleled, never conceived by anyone, Neither true nor false, its nature transcends extremes, Unfabricated and unchangeable, the key point of self-abiding awareness, Is the very state of being free from elaboration, just as it is. From whatever ignorance, with one's own sectarian bias, (68) Single-pointed, unwavering, formless meditation, The self-liberation of connecting thoughts to thoughts, And the knowledge of "zang ka" inseparable from the three times, Are binding in the prison of clinging that severs the sky. If at any time it is non-thinking, single-pointedness, Why are the gods of formless meditation not liberated? Identifying the preceding and subsequent thoughts without distraction, That itself is the activity of the moving, all-creating thought, It is the mind of desire, how could it become the path to liberation? The mind of distraction with hope, that scattered mind, Is also obscured by the stain of effortful intellect, unable to see the true meaning, Therefore, what is the use of sectarian prisons? Those with delusion hold onto manifest pride. If at any time appearance is one's own mind, Because of its variety, because there is seeing, hearing, and touching, The mind also changes with it, or like the mind, The appearance also becomes unseen and unheard. Because appearance exists prior to oneself, Therefore, before one's own birth, that mind, Exists in other places such as objects and times. When oneself goes, does the object also (69) go? Or like the object, does the mind also remain? Such faults and others are too many to mention. If one is liberated, are all liberated? If one is confused, are all confused, and so on? Because there is the nature of ignorance and error, Therefore, never rely on such wrong paths. Thus, appearance is the form of habitual delusion, Although it appears from the mind, it is not established as the mind, And there is not even a little something other than the mind, Like the illusion of the datura flower, Or like the fishnet and hair seen due to bile disorders.

Please know the meaning of appearing without me! Illusory appearance, illusory clinging, arise from the deluded mind. The mind is without substance, it is the nature of space. Without root or basis, without a place of arising. Please know that it is primordially empty, free from elaboration. When searched for, there is no place to find, in emptiness there are no things. The mind that seeks is absent, unborn, utterly pure. There is no duality of grasper and grasped, the vast expanse of selflessness. Like space, the nature that transcends thought and expression (page 70). All phenomena of samsara and nirvana are equally pervasive. The innate, natural wisdom is: Like space, the meaning of being immutable and impartial. Please know that it has existed from the present moment. When the containers are like separate spaces. Whatever appears in samsara and nirvana is primordially empty. Without the duality of good and bad, it is the state of pure nature. Even if the containers are separated at that time. Space is without distinction, likewise, it is one in the expanse. There is no change, no alteration, no before or after, no good or bad. Likewise, all dharmas are in the state of self-nature awareness. There is no before or after, no distinction, without basis, vast and great. Knowing this is being a naturally wise person. The present self-awareness is not defiled by impurities. It is clear and empty, without grasping, vast and free from bias. The meaning of Dharmakaya, the moment it arises, Is the manifestation of the blessings of the holy lama. If realized, it is all, it is the play of dharmata. It is primordially so, naturally so, it is self-arisen wisdom. If not realized, although it is like space, empty and free from elaboration, It is a boundary of thought, it is what binds one's own mind. Therefore, knowing beyond right and wrong (page 71) is precious. All beings are naturally pure Buddhas. It is self-arisen awareness, free from artificiality and defilement. Transcending ordinariness, transcending the mind. Knowing it oneself, it transcends the realm of expression. Thus, if one realizes the ultimate meaning of reality, Then non-meditation is self-liberation, it is the king of meditation. Please know that there is no abandoning or abiding, no expanding or contracting. As it is, it is the nature free from elaboration. Relax in that state of being primordially present, without artificiality or defilement. Without confinement, with a broad mind, naturally at ease. The wisdom that is free from hope and fear arises. Body and speech are not fabricated, and the mind cannot be grasped. Whatever appears, at that very moment, is free from artificiality and defilement. Without abandoning the knowing that clings to it, it is liberated into the expanse. Self-liberated, without dependence, it is the supreme king of meditation. The pervasive awareness appears like space. Vast and free from bias, not bound by confinement.
