As it is said: "Having gathered the mind from all, the inner self is unwavering, even if dwelling, the forms of the eye, the mind that sees is born of power." Also, when meditating, if the six aggregates cease and one goes into unconsciousness, then one has strayed into the meditation of delusion. If one meditates by blocking the six objects, although there is mindfulness, because the objects are not clear, it is said to fall into one-pointedness of calm abiding, which is the karma of being born in the formless realm, and so on. Even if objects appear, but one praises extremes with views, merely the clear mind abiding in emptiness is the habit of being born in the form realm, and so on. Therefore, having known awareness as liberation from extremes, in a state where no grasping arises towards any appearance or awareness, it is crucial that the object is clear and awareness is pure. This is the wisdom that is completely liberated from the three realms, the view of the ground of appearance and existence. Thus, to aid in practice, one should train in the four sessions of meditation, which are to cut the attachment to the four aspects of food, clothing, sleep, and habits. First, to cut the attachment to food, training in the session of meditation is to take essences and eat wind and mind as food, and so on, refer to the individual texts. Here, to briefly show the essence of eating wind and mind as food, in the morning, blow three breaths, contemplate all appearances as space, and when inhaling, contemplate that each blue light arises and fills the entire inside of the body, and join the upper and lower winds and hold them. By this, the channels are purified and food is not needed. Or, at the tip of the heart facing upwards, the white awareness yogini holding a curved knife, inside the heart tip that is cut open, from the Bhaga (藏文,梵文Bhaga,梵文罗马拟音bhaga,汉语字面意思:female genitalia), a stream of white and red bodhicitta descends and fills it, contemplate that all bodily diseases are filled with bliss, and holding the breath in conjunction is the supreme key point. By this, all attachment to food is naturally cut off, and one lives day and night on the food of meditation. (404) Secondly, to cut the attachment to clothing, training in the session of meditation is to assume the posture of a sage, contemplate that fire blazes from the navel like a mountain, filling the body, and strongly hold the breath in the navel. On an empty stomach, eat pills made by mixing rock salt, coarse salt, alkaline salt, white sugar, and yak gall, each the size of a meatball. Blissful warmth will come like a blazing fire. Also, first contemplate the fire as a small point and gradually increase it.

Meditation on that is the key. Third, cutting attachment to dreams, learning in sessions of contemplation, there are two: examination and meditation. The first is to slow down for a few days and massage the body during the day. At night, examine: if you dream mostly of what you have done recently, the imprints are very thin and easy to transform. If you dream mostly of past attachments, it is moderate. If you only dream of places you have never been to and people you don't know, it is difficult to cut. If all three are dreamed in a jumbled way, it is called the combination of three imprints, which is also very difficult to cut. The second is meditation, with three aspects: training, transforming, and cutting. The first (405) is to recognize all daytime appearances as dreams. At night, lie down on the right side of the body, and the key to the mind is to generate the intention to train once you recognize the dream tonight. Then, focus the mind on a ball of light in the heart and lie down, and you will recognize the dream as a dream. At that time, meditate on all phenomena of appearance and sound as dreamlike illusions, and train in the state of emptiness without reality. If you cannot recognize it, pray intensely to the lama, generate devotion and pure perception. During the day, recognize the dream as a clear and unreal appearance, and practice with diligence like a burning fire. If you dream of a frightening situation, such as being chased by a dog or an enemy, being swept away by a great flood, being burned by fire, or falling off a cliff, think: this is a dream, I will surely get through it safely, and you will surely recognize it. At that time, practice in unreality. Then, the transformation is to transform the appearances of dreams into the pure land of the Buddha and the mandala of the yidam, and transform oneself into the Buddha, etc., transforming to show various miracles, transforming one into (406) many, transforming many into one, transforming earth into water, etc., and even transforming all phenomena into non-arising and meditating. Then, the cutting is to cut off the proliferation of awareness moment by moment on the appearance during the day, so it will also appear in dreams. When the dream appears, recognize it, and in the state of non-arising, away from the object of appearance, cut off the distraction of thoughts and meditate. In this way, the dream will naturally cease and be cut off. Day and night, abide in the wheel of Dharma nature, and all imprints, mistaken appearances, and attachments will be self-pacified in the Dharmadhatu.
