Appearing as view, meditation, and conduct, the self-radiance of dharmata is manifest, emptiness and clarity arise as the three kayas, appearing as the essence of inexpressible wisdom awareness, and seeing the lamps of empty bindus in the field of vision, these are said to be wonderful. The third is the empowerment of the power of awareness: The lama says, "In any object, there is no self-nature. It is invisible (219). It is lifeless. It is without essence. It is empty. It is without words. It is without letters. It is without sound. It is without terms. It is inexpressible." Having said this, because this mind-essence is not established in its own entity, it has no self-nature. Because it cannot be grasped, it is invisible. Because it transcends existence and non-existence, it is lifeless. Because there is no right or wrong, it is without essence. Because it appears as non-existent and its essence is empty, it is empty. Because it is not established anywhere, it is without words. Because it is free from focus and thought, it is without letters. Because it transcends speech, it is without sound. Because it transcends speech and thought, it is without terms. Because it transcends the object of expression, it is inexpressible. This is how it should be explained. The fourth is the empowerment of Samantabhadra's spontaneously accomplished dharmata: The lama says, "All dharmas are empty and without self, the mind of desire and attachment is completely deluded. The very nature of dharmadhatu is free from elaboration, following after signs and words is completely deluded. The wisdom of the essence of meaning arises naturally, thinking it comes from others and striving to accomplish it is completely deluded. Mind-essence transcends the two of birth and death, clinging to the two of arising and ceasing (220) is completely deluded. The fruit is naturally complete and free from aspiration, looking at the time with discriminating wisdom is completely deluded. All happiness and suffering are the magical display of awareness, clinging to the two of acceptance and rejection is completely deluded. Samantabhadra abides within oneself, seeking a yidam from elsewhere is completely deluded. Self is primordially Buddha, clinging to the three lower realms is completely deluded. Samsara and the lower realms appear as enjoyment, desiring true Buddhahood is completely deluded. The five poisons are not abandoned, the great natural arising, clinging to afflictions as something to be abandoned is completely deluded. The appearance of delusion naturally arises as the dharmakaya, clinging to things as real is completely deluded. The nine vehicles arise naturally within oneself, clinging to the tenets of each is completely deluded." The meaning of these words is: Ah! Fortunate ones, all dharmas included in appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana

Know that all things are primordially empty and without self, therefore abide in the nature of non-acceptance and non-rejection. If you do not know this and cling to the self-grasping of persons and dharmas as self-existent, then the continuation of samsara (page 221) is a self-caused delusion. External appearances are earth, water, fire, and wind. The inner aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., are the realm or source that is free from all elaborations, like the sky. Therefore, know that the nature of mind is self-born wisdom, insubstantial and transparent. If you do not know this and cling to appearances and mind, and with a mind of true clinging, apply many words and terms, then the mind follows and becomes deluded. Know that the wisdom of the essential meaning, spontaneously present in yourself from the beginning, abides in you now. If you do not know this and think that it is accomplished by causes and conditions now, and that you will attain pure wisdom later, then it is a delusion because you do not know your own nature. Know that your own mind-nature is without any tangible object, and that it is of the nature of no birth and no death. If you do not know this and cling to birth, then clinging to arising and ceasing is a delusion. The three kayas are inseparable and complete in themselves, so know them as the empty essence of the Dharmakaya. If you do not know this, then striving and striving, and in the end, thinking that Buddhahood will be attained after many kalpas (page 222) is a delusion. All happiness, suffering, and neutrality arise from your own mind, are equal, and have no essence, so know them as the magical display of primordial liberation awareness. If you do not know this, then pursuing what is desired, abandoning what is not desired, and clinging to happiness and suffering separately, is grasping duality as two, which is the nature of delusion. Know that your own awareness is the self-born Buddha Samantabhadra. If you do not know this, then even if you seek a deity from elsewhere through conceptual meditation on characteristics, it is nothing other than the habitual conceptual thoughts of your own mind, so it is a delusion. In the essence of awareness, karma and afflictions are primordially purified, and the wisdom of knowledge is primordially vast, so know this. If you do not know this, then fearing falling into the lower realms is also a mistaken thought. In the appearance of self-awareness, the lower is the realm of the six realms of samsara, and the upper is the play of the three kayas of nirvana, know that they are in the spontaneously accomplished mandala of primordial awareness. If you do not know this, samsara and nirvana
