Napo (place name) went to the Cool Grove charnel ground. At that time, in the city called Elephant Mound in the west of India, there was a patron named Dedan Koro, and a mother named Bright Awareness Mother, their son was the great scholar Vimalamitra; in the city of Kamala in the east of India, the father was the low-caste Shanti Lapa, and the mother was Good Mind Mother, their son was named Yeshe Do. These two were proficient in the five sciences (96), and when they were staying at Vajrasana, they went one yojana to the west, to a dense lotus garden full of flowers to relax. From the sky came the prophecy of Vajrasattva: "Hey, two sons of good family, you have been born as panditas for five hundred lifetimes, but you have not achieved any results. If you want to be liberated in one lifetime, go to the Cool Grove charnel ground in China." After hearing this, they immediately set off. When Vimala went, he met Shri Singha, and completely obtained all the essential instructions of the oral transmission, as well as all the inner and outer secrets. Later, when he returned to India again, he met Yeshe Do on the outskirts of the city of Joy, awakened the memories of his previous life, and asked, "Have you met the holy one?" He replied, "I have met the incarnation of the Buddha." After that, Vimala went to practice in the small charnel ground. After that, Yeshe Do went to the Cool Grove charnel ground, met the great teacher Shri Singha, and asked to be accepted. Shri Singha agreed to him. First, he gave the oral transmission and the bindu (97), all the inner and outer secrets, and then he gave all the most secret and unsurpassed yogas, and also prophesied the scriptures. At that time, Shri Singha also transformed into a mass of light and departed. Jnanasutra uttered lamentations such as "Alas, how sad!", and a relic called "Seventh Nail" descended from the precious gau. After that, Yeshe Do took out the scriptures from Tashi Trigo and stayed in the great charnel ground of Bhasim in India. At that time, the dakini Auspicious Wisdom Mother prophesied to Vimala, "Hey, fortunate one, if you want to obtain a deeper essential instruction than before, go to the great charnel ground of Bhasim." After hearing this, he immediately set off, met Yeshe Do, and asked to be accepted. Yeshe Do completely gave him all the essential instructions, and then transformed into a mass of light and departed.

When passing away, lamenting with cries of "Alas, how sad!", the posthumous teachings called "Four Methods of Placement" descended from a precious amulet. Then, Vimalamitra himself resided during the day as the object of offering for King Simhasamudra of Kamarupa in the eastern part of India (98), and at night he taught the Dharma to the dakinis in the charnel grounds. Also, as an emanation, he resided in the city of Bhiru in the western part of India as the object of offering for King Dharmapala, and at night he taught the Dharma to the dakinis in the charnel ground called Rabtu Nangje, five hundred yojanas to the north of there. He also served as the object of offering for King Indrabodhi the Younger in the city of Kapilavastu. Up to that point, it was the transmission through the signs of vidyadharas. After that, it was the transmission through the ears of individuals. At that time, when the Tibetan King Trisong Detsen built the Samye Migyur Lhundrub Temple and promoted the Buddha's teachings, Nyangban Tingdzin Zangpo, who was offered as a lama, remained in single-pointed samadhi of tranquility for seven years. Seeing the four continents simultaneously with his physical eyes, he consulted with the king, saying, "In the city of Kapilavastu in India, at the place of offering for King Indrabodhi, there is a great teacher named Vimalamitra, who is learned and has attained accomplishment. He holds in his mind a secret mantra that has not yet been propagated, which can lead to enlightenment in one lifetime (99). Please invite him." The king sent three translators with much gold dust and gold leaves. The translators also presented gifts to the king in India and requested that a pandita be sent. Among the assembly of Dharma teachers, Vimalamitra stood up from among five hundred panditas and said, "Ka Ka Pa Ri," which was interpreted in three ways. Kawa Peltseg said: "A person who relies on boats, if he is skilled at rowing, can cross the ocean." Chokro Luyi Gyaltsen said: "An arrow that relies on a bow, if a man is skilled at drawing the bow, can shoot the arrow at the target." Ma Rinchen Chok said: "King, if you are generous in giving, wherever the vase of the body rolls, the river of consciousness will flow there."
