Being complete without searching is green. Being immutable is blue. Thus it is said, In the union of sun and moon, From the appearance of self-nature, the five bodies, five families, five wisdoms, five winds, five knowledges, and five lights have primordially arisen. So it is. In compassion, the wisdom of awareness, the aspect of knowing is unceasing, abiding in inner clarity, from which, the appearance of discriminating wisdom is divided. From that very thing, in the aspect of compassionate awareness, abides the wisdom of all-knowing and all-aspect knowing. So it is. Thus, the realm (426) is naturally pure, the wisdom of empty clarity awareness, naturally unwavering, abides in the nature of the luminosity of the dharma. The basis of separation for the arising of the ground and the liberation from delusion is: From the very nature of the primordial ground, the appearance of the five spontaneously present lights, when the wind of awareness wisdom outwardly arises, within the five spontaneously present resonances of the five lights, like a rainbow, the inconceivable mandala of the peaceful and wrathful enjoyment body, and the five pure lands of the self-nature emanation body, and in the world of the six realms of beings, the countless emanations of the six teachers are like reflections. They appear as self-appearance and self-arising. From the self-arising of awareness, from such a ground, the appearance of spontaneously present jewels arises. Thus and so forth it is said. The way of liberation of Samantabhadra is: When the ground appearance arises, at the moment of recognizing one's own face, one is primordially liberated, the realm and wisdom are inseparable, abiding in the inner clarity of the dharma nature's intention. That is, in the Definitive Meaning Gathering Sutra, At that time, Samantabhadra, with the six dharmas, goes to the ground by recognizing his own face. So it is. The six dharmas are: When the realm appearance arises, the awareness born together with the causal condition, the object condition of light (427) and body appearance, the immediately preceding condition of similarity, at the time of the three simultaneous appearances of appearance and awareness, the fruit not born from cause, is primordially realized as a Buddha by self-awareness, the Buddha awareness not born from mind appears as wisdom, the pith instruction not born from scripture, one becomes a Buddha by one's own awareness. Such a first arising is the glorious and supreme Samantabhadra, the common splendor of samsara and nirvana, and is also all those liberated from the realm appearance, especially when the ground appearance arises in the bardo, the measure of liberation is this system. The second meaning is the delusion of sentient beings from that.

The manner of that is as follows: When the appearance of the expanse is not recognized as one's own appearance, one grasps it as other in an instant, and thus one is deluded. Because one does not recognize one's own face, there is coemergent ignorance. Because one grasps it as other, there is imputational ignorance. The five lights become the basis of delusion for objects, and awareness becomes the basis of delusion for mind. Thus, through habitual tendencies, they appear as substantial objects, body, and mind. Furthermore, there are three types of ignorance that depend on awareness: Because one does not recognize the aspect of non-conceptual essence, there is ignorance of self-identity. Because the nature is clear as light, but one does not recognize the nature (428), there is coemergent ignorance. Because compassion is not recognized as self-awareness, imputational ignorance becomes the initial cause of delusion. The three types of ignorance that arise as object and subject from the four conditions are the causal condition. The appearance of objects, grasping self as other, is like a face appearing in a mirror, and is the objective condition. The consciousness that grasps at duality is the dominant condition. Because these are simultaneous, the four conditions, including the immediately preceding condition, are complete. Thus, the three realms and six classes of beings wander separately. In the Mirror of the Heart of Vajrasattva, it says: All these sentient beings of the three realms are deluded from a basis that is nothing whatsoever. That basis is also empty in essence, clear in nature, and compassionate in its ability to appear to sentient beings. In that, the consciousness that grasps, from the aspect of ignorance, does not change for an instant, and thus from the empty husk of consciousness, the thought arises, "Did that arise from me? Did I arise from that?" One is deluded by just this thought. That ignorance itself is not present in the basis, but it is present in appearance. In that appearance, four types of conditions arise. That basis abides in the form of a sphere of light, and is called the causal condition. Grasping that thing as self is called the dominant condition. (429) Grasping that as subject is called the objective condition. For example, it is like showing a mirror to a person's face. Because these three are simultaneous, it is called the immediately preceding condition. Because one does not recognize that very appearance of one's own face as oneself, the basis of the three realms of samsara is established. From that, the afflictions become coarse, and thus the forms of sentient beings arise in different ways. Such a basis is deluded from impurity. So it is said. Furthermore, from the *Guhyagarbha Tantra*: Emaho! Possessing the essence of the Sugata. Emanated by the power of one's own conceptual thoughts. Various bodies and enjoyments. Grasping separately at self and what belongs to self.
