It symbolizes that the self-appearing form and the appearance of wisdom reside clearly within. At that time, it is clear that awareness is inseparable from clarity and emptiness, symbolizing that compassion resides clearly within. At that time, when the moon rises at night, one should realize that self-awareness dwells spontaneously accomplished in the realm of the five lights. This is the key point, the most important Yangti, extremely secret, and should be practiced by the fortunate. When the body is abandoned and the pure realms appear, may the yogis and others be liberated into the original ground where phenomena cease, and may the spontaneously accomplished precious one be without change in the three times. This is it alone. This is it alone. This is it alone. Third, how to practice compassion, awareness, and emptiness residing in the sheath of habitual patterns: Among the two, meditative equipoise and post-meditation: First, with the body possessing the seven-point posture of Vairochana, when the mind is placed in a state free from grasping and fixation (133), when awareness is not established anywhere, residing in the view like the sky arising from within, this is the still abiding of pacifying the proliferation of mental concepts. From that state, the appearance of the five external senses is clear and without grasping, and the arising and dissolution of internal conceptual thoughts are like the waves of water, and abiding steadily in the state of great clarity and still abiding, this is seeing the self-luminosity of the mind's grasping and fixation, and the great clear emptiness of insight arises. At that time, because the mind has no fixation on appearances, it is insight; because there is no sinking or excitement in abiding, it is still abiding; because one is completely present in the other, it is union. No matter what arises, because one does not grasp at anything, it is the enlightened mind, the great expanse of liberation from extremes. Second, post-meditation: In all activities such as walking, sitting, eating, and sleeping: The appearance of external objects is like dreams and illusions; whatever arises in the appearance of the inner mind is self-liberated; one should become accustomed to the appearance of the inseparability of object and mind, without attachment and relaxed (134). In such appearances, there is no fixation on this or that, like a dream last night; in the awareness of whatever arises, there is no abandoning or adopting, like water and waves; in the nature of non-attachment, the realm of non-grasping bursts forth, like the wind in space; although appearing in various ways, there is no grasping at them, like a magical game, and with four kinds of recognition, one should practice the power of great non-inherent existence on impure appearances. In addition, the instructions for the night, the instructions for the moment of death, should also be explained: When sleeping, one should remember the appearance of death. Be happy in that day.

It is useless to grieve, so remember not to take or leave or be attached to the appearances of this life. When going to sleep, when the coarse appearances have ceased, remember the stages of how the four elements are gathered, such as earth dissolving into water. When briefly unconscious in sleep, remember the meaning of the vase-entry of knowledge, with the essence gathered in the heart. When various dreams arise, remember the bardo between the nature of reality and existence. When waking up from that (page 135), like dreams dissolving into one's own mind, remember the instruction of how samsara and nirvana dissolve into the primordial state. This is the essence of the key instructions. Second, the way the appearances of the sambhogakaya arise from the womb of illusory wisdom: The four elements dissolve in sequence, and the appearances of this life fade. When space dissolves into clear light, in an instant the illusion of grasping and being grasped, inside and outside, ceases. Having emerged into the secret gate of wisdom, in the outer space in front of one's own appearances: In the womb of precious wisdom, a house of awareness with light, a land of limitless light, appears pervading space. Between the womb of precious wisdom and awareness, a stream of compassion, a bundle of light rays, five colors intertwined, connected like a ladder erected or a string stretched tight, for example, like the light that appears on the eastern mountain when the sun rises, and the sunlight connects the space between that and the light that appears on the western mountain. At that time, knowing that the appearance of the five lights is one's own appearance, remember the instruction of the previous union of light clusters (page 136). At that time, awareness rides on the rays of wisdom and enters the appearance of the womb of precious wisdom. That appearance also possesses the dharani of not forgetting, so the base consciousness appears as the dharmakaya, the self-sound appears as the complete enjoyment body, swirling in a wheel of light, the five youthful vase bodies appear like reflections in a mirror. At that time, the way to be liberated by remembering the instruction of the five spontaneously accomplished bodies is: Although the illusion of the grasping mind, habitual tendencies, and mind ceases, the wisdom that transcends mind does not cease, like seeing a familiar person later on, the knower does not discriminate against the known. At that time, knowing one's own appearance as one's own sound, and abiding in spontaneously accomplished samadhi, the five bodies touch the appearance of the five wisdoms, and because the eye and direct perception of wisdom arise, it is called the fivefold. At that time, knowing those to be tamed and the means of taming, the sambhogakaya father and mother.
