Sa Teḥ (ས་ཏེཿ,seed syllable) The fundamental basis is self-originated wisdom, and its radiance is the five wisdoms, the five lights of the five bodies, and the illusion of the appearance of objects, bodies, and consciousness. That is, the blue light is the outer sky, the inner is emptiness, and the secret is the arising of the ālaya. The white light is the outer water, the inner is blood and essence, and the secret is the arising of the appearance of the ālaya consciousness. The yellow light is the outer earth, the inner is flesh and bone, and the secret is mind. The red light is the outer fire, the inner is warmth, and the secret is afflicted mind. The green light is the outer wind, the inner is breath, and the secret is the support of the five sense consciousnesses. The five powers of these are the five poisons. Accumulating these mainly produces the five realms, and the happiness and suffering of these arise like dreams. Thus, when deluded, in this body of karmic ripening and habitual tendencies, the main pulse, from the right Roma pulse, flows fierce wind, and from the pulse petals descends white essence; from the left Kyangma pulse flows gentle wind, and from the pulse petals descends red; from the central Uma pulse flows neuter wind, which is a very great essence, and is the support of the pulse petals flowing in the realm of wisdom beyond the gross. These rely on the three poisons, so they are called the pulses of samsara. The nature of these four or five chakras is the same as others. In the common tantras, these three pulses are considered to be the three bodies, three doors, (119) three poisons, generation stage, completion stage, etc., but since they are not ultimate, they are called the pulse petals of samsara. The primordial pulse petals beyond great suffering are also called the pulse of self-originated wisdom, also called the spontaneously accomplished pulse of the basis appearance, also called the kati crystal tube, the essence is the self-originated wisdom beyond mind, the appearance is the nature of the five families of light, the way compassion manifests is uninterrupted, pervading all of existence, the world, outer and inner, samsara and nirvana. In the center of the central channel, connected to the life force of the eight-petaled jewel heart, it is the support of all memory, and in the pulse tube, drawn by the wind, the basis of the manifestation of the five sense consciousnesses, together with the ālaya consciousness and mind consciousness, exists, and its radiance exists as light and bindus in the pulses inside the body. The doors of these, like a lamp in water, like the sky appearing on the clean surface of a mirror, seem to exist at the edge of the sky, but they are not outside, and even when the eyes are closed, there are subtle lights and

Therefore, understand through the uninterrupted way. That self-arisen wisdom itself is merely not recognizing oneself, and the energy of the light channels resides in the life channel, so it is called the unindicated Alaya. Its energy is clear and bright, uninterrupted, this is merely the Alaya consciousness, which is located in the life channel. Then, from the five gates of the eyes and so on, its energy emanates, so it is the five gate consciousness, merely the non-conceptual bright appearance. In the previous matter, due to thought, one clings to mixing with the object, so it is consciousness. Its first moment is without thought. Then, when acting in any of the three, greed, hatred, and delusion, it is the afflicted mind. Then, when falling asleep, the five gates and the two consciousnesses of mind enter the Alaya consciousness, staying for a moment in a bright and non-conceptual state, this is the clear light of emptiness. Then, after dissolving into the Alaya, the pure empty wind-mind, all appearances that rely on the petal channels of the five gates dissolve into the central channel, so there is only non-conceptuality, that is: in the state of dull single sleep (121). At that time, if combined firmly with the previously accustomed experience of bliss-clarity, non-thought, then pure light will appear without any dreams. At this time, for some yogis who receive the blessings of the lama, and who look at the appearance of the five lights during the day, because the wind of the central channel dissolves into the glass tube, the appearance of the self-arisen ground appearance will appear. And what is that like? Upward, in the state of primordial purity like the sky, it is just like the appearance of tiny stars. Directly, in the state of the Sambhogakaya like a rainbow, the pure land is like an illusion. Downward, in the state of the six realms of samsara like a dream, happiness and suffering appear like mirages. When knowing that all of this is self-appearance, in the state of primordial purity, in the sky where Dharma is exhausted, realization dissolves, and outflows are exhausted. This is what I saw at night in the light of the wisdom jewel through the blessings of the self-arisen lotus. For those who do not have the key points of habituation, from the central channel to the life channel, once a wind stirs, consciousness will arise from the Alaya of various habits (122), when various dreams appear, the three, greed, hatred, and delusion, arise naturally, therefore the afflicted mind also follows, thereby experiencing the burden of illusory appearances. Then, when the energy winds of the five gates enter respectively, one will wake up. When various appearances appear during the day, the root consciousness of the five gates is non-conceptual, and clinging to the five objects with greed, hatred, and delusion, this is the mind and afflicted mind with thought. Two thoughts cannot exist at the same time.
