Such experiences of awareness arise. Constantly abide in that state, and by practicing free from dullness and agitation, one touches the meaning of original purity. At that time, the qualities of the eye and clairvoyance will definitely arise. Again, in a secluded and agreeable place, meditate on the peaceful samadhi as before. In particular, a rainbow appears, or a silk curtain spreads out in the sky. Assume the body posture as before, and meditate by focusing awareness on the rainbow. Then, a special samadhi that is clear and non-conceptual will arise. At this time, the experience of the self-luminous nature of awareness arises. Furthermore, the method of taking and abandoning the great ground appearance is as follows: In a very secluded place, spread out a painted curtain of peaceful and wrathful deities within the rainbow patterns. Spread out life-sustaining objects, and spread out light-emitting objects such as lamps. By looking at the surface of a mirror, the entire pure surface of space is adorned with the mandala of peaceful and wrathful deities, with rays of light, bindus, and fine particles. By practicing without moving the eyes and awareness on that, the appearance of the aggregates of five awarenesses will stabilize in their own place, and the experience of clear emptiness, free from elaboration, and a special samadhi will definitely arise. Also, the appearance of the Sambhogakaya is similar to that. Play the rosary of cymbals, and look at the scene of the six realms of beings (78) painted and spread out below. At that time, by focusing awareness on one point and abiding in it, the six aggregates will not cease, and the clear and non-conceptual samadhi, the original basis, will definitely appear. In all those cases, it is most important to cherish the memory with self-appearing awareness. This is the way to show the path. Third, the way of liberation of the result is as follows: For those who are diligent, it appears in this life, while for ordinary people, it appears in the bardo. That is, when consciousness dissolves into the sky, a great clarity appears, like the original sky. The basis of liberation of the original purity, just by recognizing the key instructions of the time of practicing in the pure sky, one will be liberated nakedly in the original basis. If some consider this appearance to be luminosity, then it should be known that the luminosity of the peaceful Dharmakaya is the first moment. In other places, there is no color, so it is not the luminosity of appearance. This is called the luminosity of emptiness. The expansion of this self-appearance is as follows: After that, the sky dissolves into luminosity, and rays of compassion arise from one's eyes.

Even mere focus leads to liberation. From that thread of light, the luminosity of color and form appears, becoming the realm of sensory experience. At that time, one should recognize the instruction of the previously accustomed spontaneous appearances as one's own nature. Thus, recognizing one's own nature and liberation are simultaneous. Then, dissolving into the union of luminosity, the appearances of the Sambhogakaya realm, peaceful and wrathful, arise. At the first instant, when the wrathful appearances arise as sound, light, and rays, like a lion cub, awaken from the depths, recognizing it as self-appearance, thereby liberating into the wrathful body. Then, for the peaceful assembly, through the instruction practiced during the time of the basic appearance, merely recognizing self-appearance as luminosity is enough for liberation. Then, dissolving into the union of wisdom, and at the time of dissolving into the union of spontaneous perfection, the precious one, through the instruction previously accustomed to the Sambhogakaya appearances, merely recognizing it as self-appearance, eight ways of dissolving and four ways of liberation will occur, similar to others. At these times (page 80), in the first instant, recognizing it as self-appearance, like self-appearance dissolving into the light of crystal, dissolve into the primordial ground, thereby liberating into the body of the inner clear youthful vase. That is also, in the first instant, recognize one's own nature, in the second instant, remain briefly in meditation, in the third instant, liberate in the primordial state. Due to the difference in faculties, it is said that five days and twenty-one days, this refers to liberation when the various appearances gradually arise and are completed. That is also, liberating in the most excellent way in the ground of primordial purity, just as the setting of the sun and the rising of the moon are simultaneous, the cessation of breath and the attainment of Buddhahood are simultaneous, that is, liberating in a single instant. The inner breath ceases, liberating in the appearance of space, this is the most excellent of the most excellent. When the first luminosity arises, liberating by recognizing it as self-appearance, in the first instant, recognize self-appearance, in the second instant, dissolve into it, this is the middle of the excellent. When luminosity is complete, in the first instant, recognize it as self-appearance, in the second instant, remain in meditation, in the third instant, liberate in inner clarity, this is the lowest of the excellent. The middling one (page 81), the appearances of peaceful and wrathful are divided into five stages, the way of liberating in any of these stages is just like the lowest of the excellent. The lowest one refers to the twenty-one ways of appearance from the spontaneous appearances onwards, therefore it is said that there are twenty-one days of meditation, liberate there, thereby gaining a firm foothold in the primordial ground. These are extracted and arranged from the definite essence. A dullard like myself
