It is a vow. (Therefore) one's own guru is also the deity. (Page 385) Because it was originally uncreated, self-arisen Great Perfection, the three bodies are inseparable, and the mandala of luminosity has already been directly seen, so please strive to practice. Third, to practice it with the four yogas. As it says in that very text: Abiding like the king of mountains is the measure of view, abiding like the ocean is the measure of meditation, abiding like appearance is the measure of conduct, abiding like awareness is the measure of result. The yoga that possesses the four measures is the mind merging with the definitive meaning. Therefore, among the four: view, meditation, conduct, and result, the first has six aspects. The first is the three: essence, nature, and compassion. Among them, the essence is abiding in the state of view, without place, time, emptiness, and free from elaboration. The nature is the self-luminosity of emptiness, appearing as light without interruption. Compassion is that whatever thoughts arise are naturally liberated. As it says in 'Beyond Thought': The essence of view is seeing, without being disturbed by the language of mind. And so on. Second, the way of realization has three: outer, inner, and secret. Outwardly, looking at the coarse and subtle appearances of objects gathered by the six senses, seeing that appearances have no self-nature, like stars appearing in the ocean (page 386), thereby realizing. Inwardly, looking at the essence of the emptiness of one's own nature, seeing that everything has no self-nature, like the center of a clear sky, thereby realizing. Secretly, looking at awareness, without omitting to scatter the language of mind outward, but directly seeing and realizing with the sense consciousness. As it says in 'Space of Clarity': All of outer, inner, and secret, see and realize its essence. And so on. Third, the defining word is that seeing all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana directly seen by the sense consciousness, therefore it is called view. As it says in 'Beyond Thought': The nature of phenomena is directly seen by the sense consciousness, therefore it is called view. And so on. As it says in 'Lamp Illuminating': Because the object appears, it itself appears. Therefore, view is related to the eye sense. And so on. Fourth, the classification is that there are two types of view: the view of the general possessor of qualities and the view of the nature of phenomena itself. As it says in that very text: There are two types of view, the view of the possessor of qualities and the view of the nature of phenomena. Because Anu did not cut off his own intention, he repeatedly looked at the meaning of the possessor of qualities, while the meaning of the nature of phenomena did not touch at all. Some of the Ati, did not see even a small aspect of this. The category of Great Perfection Bindu (page 387), outer, inner, and secret, also did not touch the meaning of this.

Therefore, this great secret instruction, the view itself is extremely secret. As it says, "On the view of non-doing, see with the eye of non-seeing." The general view refers to the different tenets of the nine vehicles. As it says in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "The desires of each of the nine vehicles, are considered to be the mind's clinging." One's own view is the three aspects of outer, inner, and secret as explained above. Fifth, the method of practice is to look at the appearances of external objects, seeing everything as dreams and illusions, without abandoning delusion, purifying it in its place, and liberating afflictions in their own place. Internally, when looking at the moving mind of thoughts like cutting through solidity, various thoughts appear and vanish like mist. As it says in "Union of Sun and Moon": "For those who are accustomed to the lack of inherent existence in all objects that appear through focus, there is no duality of appearance and emptiness. The six aggregates arise unceasingly in their own place." And as it says in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "When looking back at the moving self, without abandoning, it is naturally liberated like hailstones." The secret is to look at the clear light, placing phenomena and reality in a state of unborn, beyond mind, without even a trace of grasping. As it says in "Without Letters": "Without a view, there is nothing to see. Know that the view is in a state of non-doing. If you understand the meaning of the non-dual view, then the act of looking at the meaning of the view naturally ceases. It is neither existent nor non-existent, therefore abide in the state of clear light itself." And as it says in "Self-Arisen": "The place abides in the center of the citta (藏文:ཙིཏྟ།), the path arises from the eyebrow (藏文:འབྲི་གུ་ཏ།), the object is empty space. In the nature of non-conceptual clarity, the clinging of conceptual thoughts naturally ceases, without clinging, self-arisen clarity is just like that." And as it says in "Lion's Perfect Strength": "The ultimate view of all Buddhas, does not go beyond the two, the expanse and awareness." Sixth, the measure of the view is to adopt the complete view of actionless liberation. If one is diligent, one will attain Buddhahood in this life without remainder. The intermediate will attain Buddhahood in the bardo. The lowest will attain Buddhahood in the realm of the Nirmanakaya. As it says in "Union of Sun and Moon": "The best do not need two births, the intermediate are in between two births, the lowest exhale their breath, and the Nirmanakaya liberates their own lineage." Other vehicles do not see this meaning, but the yogis of this vehicle see and liberate everything, as it says in "Lamp That Illuminates".
