By holding and meditating, one will know the state of primordial purity, the original wisdom of clarity and emptiness being non-dual. Among them, in the evening like a sage, at noon like a lion, at dawn perform the posture of the Dharmakaya, these three postures should be practiced. This is called the meditation of the union of day and night. Thus, meditating on emptiness and clarity day and night is the supreme of all meditations. As it says in the 'Vast Expanse of Clarity': 'Clarity and emptiness are free from the meditation of dualistic grasping, it is the supreme of all meditations.' So it is. Third, practicing as yoga in conduct, there are also six types among them. The essence is as before: 'The essence of conduct is the equality of taste, practice on the path of self-arising and self-liberation.' Thus, whatever arises, whether happiness or suffering, knowing it as self-arising and self-liberating enhances view and meditation. The definition is, from self-arising (394), if there is no self-arising alteration or corruption, it is conduct. Thus, whatever appearance arises, not rejecting it but practicing it is called conduct. The characteristic is as it says in the 'Compendium': 'Conduct is the mastery of asceticism.' Thus, forcing what cannot be endured upon oneself. The manner of conduct is as it says in the tantra 'Manifest Realization of the Secret Instructions of All Conducts': 'Writing letters, making offerings and giving, listening, reading and holding, explaining and reciting, contemplating the meaning and meditating, the nature of these ten conducts is the footprints of the guides.' This is the manner of conduct for beginners. In between, the manner of conduct for yogis is as it says in the 'Union of Sun and Moon': 'Distinguishing the difference between samsara and nirvana is the conduct of the body.' Thus, doing so in a mountain without people. Then, asceticism holding the wind is as before: 'Taking asceticism as the path is the conduct of a friend.' Thus, for enhancing the one who is familiar, in a charnel ground or empty valley, like a female deer or wandering like a beggar. If their friend is attached, then they associate with karma mudra, if they are detached, then they associate with experience (395) mudra. The distinction is as it says in the 'Union of Sun and Moon': 'With the conduct like a bee, taste the flavor of all dharmas. With the conduct like a wild animal, abandon the changing circumstances of delusion. With the conduct like a mute, abandon all deluded speech. With the conduct like a hawk, cut off doubts about secret methods. Like a madman'

In conduct, abandon places of solitary dwelling. With the conduct of a lion, abandon the mind of fear and roam in charnel grounds. With the conduct of a dog and pig, abandon the notions of clean and unclean. Thus it is said. The method of practice is to engage in any of the seven, according to one's own capacity. The yogi practices on the basis of circumstances, without forced arising or cessation. As it is said in "Lamp Illuminating Awareness": "The instruction on conduct is like alcohol, the appearance of mastery is like being drunk." Thus it is said. Fourth, practicing it as the yoga of the result also has six aspects. The essence is, as it is said in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "The so-called result is seizing a secure place, like a king ascending the throne, it is unchanging and irreversible." Therefore, the result does not revert to the cause, like a fruit carried away by hail (396), or like the fruit of the Bese tree. The manner or method is that having obtained stability, it is not harmed by circumstances. As it says in the same text: "The way the fruit ripens is shown, it is not destroyed by circumstances, nor does it revert." Thus it is said. The definition is that the path is ripened, therefore it is called the result, as it says in the same text: "It is called the result because it is ripened." Thus it is said. The division is that by practicing temporarily, qualities are obtained, and ultimately, karma and habitual tendencies, obscurations of sin, and all habitual tendencies of conceptual thought, arise and dissolve naturally like a snake's knot. As it says in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "The divisions of the result are condensed into two, namely temporary and ultimate." Thus it is said. The way to practice is to gain stability by placing it on the self-arisen awareness. As it says in "Vajrasattva Heart Mirror": "Know that all the dharmas of the result do not revert from the three kayas." Thus it is said. The name of the result is the result of pure spontaneous accomplishment, because it combines the activities of the Buddha in one lifetime. As it says in "Thalgyur": "Although the result cannot be expressed, the dharmas have reached the point of exhaustion, and the limit of one's own (397) accomplishment is also destroyed. At this time, the guru's instructions are obscured, the limits of view, meditation, and conduct are exhausted, the appearance of the dharmakaya is non-existent, the continuum of body and wisdom is cut off, there is no Buddha and no sentient beings, in short, nothing remains, there is no going, so there is no coming." Thus it is said. And as it says in "Lamp Illuminating Awareness": "The measure of the result is grasped by awareness. Thus the measure of the result
