does not arise. Awareness cannot appear directly. Thus it is. There are two necessities for abiding in this way: temporary and ultimate. First, the way of abiding in the Dharmakaya causes the inner elements to be exhausted. The Sambhogakaya seizes the moving winds. The Nirmanakaya causes warmth to arise in the body and the elements to be balanced. Second, all Buddhas are liberated into the three kayas, and there is a need to pass into nirvana. Second, guarding the key point of speech: In "Klong gsal," it says: Guarding the key point of speech is most precious. How to guard it? In "Transcending Change," it says: Speech should be taught, abide, and be repeated. And in "After Passing," it says: Speech has a sequence of learning, abiding firmly and repeating again. Therefore, in order to stop confused speech and generate unspeakable meaning in the continuum (369), first learn to be silent for a short time. Then learn to be silent for a long time. Then, in the sequence of abiding in speech temporarily, clearly recite your own Dharma practices, and do not speak a single word to others, only gesturing with the body. Then, stop all speech and abide like a mute. Its benefit is stated in "Klong gsal": Whoever guards the key point of speech in this way, the causes of speech are exhausted and passes into nirvana. The fault of not doing so is also stated therein: If the key point of speech is not guarded, the unspeakable meaning will not be realized, and confused speech will obscure the meaning. There are also two necessities for these: temporarily, confused speech and afflictions will not increase. Ultimately, one will quickly touch the meaning of awareness, and there is a need to pass into nirvana in the expanse of the speech of all Buddhas. Third, the key point of mind is the two, wind and awareness. By slowing the breath, directing the senses like a spear into the sky, in "Klong gsal" it says: Guarding the key point, set up like a target. How to direct it? In "After Passing" it says: The mind is directed to the space between the eyebrows, the three kayas and awareness appear as emptiness. And: The mind itself is directed to the outer space, the inner lamp appears manifestly. This is what was said from the former. In "Transcending Change" it says: The mind is accomplished by directing it to the realm of reality. And, in "Without Letters" it says: The eyes gaze into the expanse of the sky. Therefore, the outer realm of reality is the empty sky.

By looking without distraction of awareness and mind, in the outer sphere of empty space, the inner sphere of pure light, wisdom dawns as empty clarity. Its benefit is stated in 'Vast Expanse of Clarity': 'Thus, by seizing the key point of the mind, the three kayas of wisdom dawn as emptiness.' So it is said. The fault of not seizing it is also stated in the same text: 'If you do not seize the key point of the mind itself, you will not see the sphere and wisdom.' And: 'If there is no key point of the mind in this way, wisdom will turn towards objects.' Therefore, there are two necessities: temporarily, one can clearly reveal the wisdom of awareness, and ultimately, one will attain complete Buddhahood. If this is not done, there will be faults that are the opposite of these benefits. Third, the way to represent the secret (371) path of the three wisdoms. As stated in 'Vast Expanse of Clarity': 'If you do not seize the three key points beforehand, you will not directly experience your own nature, and there will be no difference from mental judgment. Therefore, it is most important to seek the three key points.' And as stated in 'Transcending Transformation': 'Do not separate the instructions of the three key points. That is, the door and the object itself, and the key points of wind and wisdom should be aligned.' And as stated in 'After the Past': 'By aligning the key points of door, object, and wind, wisdom appears manifestly in the object.' Therefore, here there are three: the key point of the door that causes manifestation, the key point of the object that is the basis of manifestation, and the key point of the wind of how it manifests. First, in 'Transcending Transformation' it says: 'The door through which wisdom manifests is, from the door called 'eye,' where all the essence of the body is gathered, it emits, showing the appearance of grasping at duality, especially in the veins that coil like a ram's horn, which distinguish good from bad, it separates black and white, called 'A-bra,' it knows and grasps all forms, and fully shows the self-power of knowing. This is what actually arises.' And as stated in 'The Burning Lamp': 'The door of manifestation is the two eyes.' Therefore, the actual wisdom is in the heart (372), like a butter lamp in a vase, the clear radiance in the veins, the basis of the manifestation of the four lamps, the self-nature existing as light and bindus, from the heart to the eye, in the vein like a white silk thread, it dawns like the rays of an expanding star. As stated in 'Vast Expanse of Clarity': 'Wisdom dwells in the center of the heart, it appears on the path of the veins, like a white silk thread.' And as stated in the same text: 'In the center of the five chakras, Roma, Jangma, Kundharma, pierce the door of the senses.'
