Where is it? The mind abides separately. When examining external and internal containers and contents, body, head, tail, etc., when none of these are seen, when looking back at the discriminating consciousness itself, the consciousness (344) is clear and apparent, but its nature is not established. Thus, one attains certainty in the great primordial emptiness, without foundation or root. In this way, where does the mind abide or is found? Since the mind of the abider has no object to grasp, the cause of the mind abiding in the middle is emptiness. Thus, the mind is clear and its nature is not established, which is the Sambhogakaya, unobstructed, recognizing its own face. Third, examining the destination of the mind: The mind seems to arise suddenly and disappear suddenly. When examining where it ultimately goes, no destination is found in any of the external and internal containers and contents, appearance and emptiness, existence and non-existence, etc. When examining the mind of the goer, when the object of grasping the essence is not seen, one attains certainty in the great state of mind being unborn and beyond mind. In this way, the mind has not found a destination, and since the mind of the goer has no object to grasp, the cause of the mind's ultimate cessation is emptiness. This is the mind being clear and empty, free from coming and going, attaining certainty in the Nirmanakaya and recognizing its own face. Thus, the preliminaries or actions of the mind have three necessities: common, special, and ultimate. First, there is the necessity of completely purifying the sins of the mind, (345) pacifying the obstacles of the mind, and reversing the clinging of the mind. Second, there is the necessity of the mind being liberated into the Dharmakaya. Third, there is the necessity of all Buddhas' mind Vajra being non-dual with the primordial basis and entering into Nirvana. Thus, if the mind and suchness are not distinguished, there will be faults contrary to the above qualities. Then, obtaining the three Kayas and entering Nirvana in the three Vajras of body, speech, and mind of all Buddhas, although the two are one in bliss, if it is said that the special and ultimate necessities are different, is there no desire to understand? There is a difference. Obtaining the three bodies of body, speech, and mind is an appearance that manifests externally to those to be tamed. Entering Nirvana is the inner clarity going to the basis of the primordial. Thus, the ultimate completion of the actions of body, speech, and mind causes the appearance of external delusive conditions to cease. Second, distinguishing the inner body, speech, and mind as

Furthermore, the method for purifying obscurations is as follows: In the 'Luminous Expanse' it says, 'In order to exhaust the causes of delusion, one should distinguish between samsara and nirvana as if dissecting internal organs.' This means that although the external causes of deluded appearances are exhausted by the three preliminary practices mentioned above (346), the internal causes and seeds of delusion in body, speech, and mind are not yet exhausted. Therefore, in order to exhaust them, one must distinguish between samsara and the root of body, speech, and mind as if dissecting internal organs. The actual method of distinguishing is stated in 'The Result of the Past': 'This body is born from the cause of ignorance, therefore the seeds of the six realms reside within it. Awareness is the reality of the three kayas, therefore the three kayas manifest as three letters. Through the practice of these letters, one distinguishes the root.' So, how do the six seeds reside? In the 'Luminous Expanse' it says, 'At the crown, throat, heart, navel, secret place, and soles of the feet, reside A, Su, Nri, Tri, Pre, and Du respectively.' This means that at the six abodes of beings to be purified, one purifies with the letters of the three kayas that purify. Specifically, one should visualize a white A at the crown of one's body, with the habit of the gods, appearing as a white, misty obscuration. Similarly, at the throat, a yellow-green Su with the habit of the asuras; at the heart, a blue-gray Nri with the habit of humans; at the navel, a red-black Tri with the habit of animals; at the secret place, a green Pre with the habit of pretas; and at the soles of the feet, a dark Du with the habit of hell beings. Having meditated that these are all gathered together, light radiates from the white seed syllable Om (藏文:ཨཱོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) of the dharmakaya at the crown (347), light radiates from the red seed syllable Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊) of the sambhogakaya at the throat, and light radiates from the blue Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) of the nirmanakaya at the heart. One should think that the light burns all the obscurations of the six seeds, body, speech, and mind, and all the habits of ignorance and delusion, and recite the mantras. Recite Om (藏文:ཨཱོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) seven million times with a melodious voice and song. At that time, visualize that, just as with oneself, fire blazes from the letters at the three places of all sentient beings, burning the six seeds, and recite the mantras. The signs of accomplishment are dreams of the exhaustion of sins, various signs, and the cessation of ordinary clinging to body, speech, and mind, feeling as clear and transparent as a pure crystal ball. If these signs do not appear, repeat the practice. This, among all visualizations, is the wish-fulfilling jewel king. This is because, when wandering in samsara with self-cherishing awareness, the various karmas accumulated become habits on the six letters, whether good or bad.
