Thirst, the use of animals, human birth and death, the struggles of the Asuras, and the suffering of watching death, migration, and falling, all should be contemplated in one's own mind-stream. (336) One should remember as much as possible the experiences of happiness and suffering, and the various sounds of those beings. Then, if there is no attachment to the body, and one can practice both cessation and cultivation, and there is no feeling of hunger or thirst, that is a sign of practice. If that has not yet occurred, one should repeat the practice. The second is the actual preliminary practice. As it says in the 'Summary': 'With the vajra posture, discipline the body and benefit the mind.' Therefore, the vajra posture is to bring the soles of the feet together and sit upright with the body straight. The two hands are joined together without touching the crown of the head, with the fingertips pointing upwards and the base of the palms pointing downwards, resembling a three-pointed vajra, and one should strive day and night. The signs are that the body aches all over, and one cannot stand as if a dilapidated house is collapsing, and warmth arises and there are no conceptual thoughts. Furthermore, the three points pointing upwards represent the three: essence, nature, and compassion, and the three points pointing downwards represent the three kayas. The waist being drawn into one represents the practice of Tögal and Trekchö, which are the same in essence, and taking them as the path. Thus, having done the preliminary practice of the body, there are three purposes: common, special, and ultimate. First, it is necessary to purify all the sins of the body, and to see the body as blazing with vajra fire, thereby pacifying the demons and obstacles of the body, and to reverse attachment to the body. (337) Second, having reversed attachment in this way, one will not fall into samsara in the future, and it is necessary for the body to be liberated into the Nirmanakaya. Third, it is necessary for that body itself to be inseparable from the vajra body of all the Buddhas, and to pass into nirvana in the primordial state. The second is purification, of which there are two parts. The first is distinguishing the camps, as it says in the 'Aftermath': 'In order to perform the preliminary practice of speech, utter the various sounds of the six realms, the sounds of peace and wrath, and the sounds of the elements, applying them to both in various ways.' This is because the body, formed from ignorance, wanders in samsara relying on the sound called speech. Therefore, in order to not fall into samsara in the future, it is very important to distinguish the camps of speech and samsara. Therefore, one should go to a deserted place and think, 'Now, for the benefit of sentient beings, I will distinguish the camps of speech and samsara,' and generate the intention not to return later.

Then, remember and express all the various sounds of the six realms, peaceful tones, wrathful laughter, and the various sounds of the four elements. The sign is that understanding arises from the guru's instructions, and without special grasping, it spontaneously arises (338), and many Dharma words and meanings spontaneously emerge. If this does not happen, repeat the practice. Second, the actual preliminary practice of speech is as follows: In the Ornament of Clear Realization, it says, "Speech abides in Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), in blessing and diligent practice, by entering the path of gentleness, thus the practice of speech benefits the mind." Therefore, there are four: blessing, diligent practice, gentle practice, and entering the path. First, blessing is also divided into two. One is blessing the outer appearance. By reciting Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) for a long time, think that all outer appearances, large and small, become large and small Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)s, clearly visible. The teeth and lips should touch slightly, and the three—breath, appearance, and awareness—should be focused on one point without distraction. Then, if all appearances become blurred, that is a sign of being blessed. The necessity of this is that outer appearances are liberated as being without inherent existence. Second, blessing the inner aggregates: Again, sit in the lotus position and visualize the outer Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)s appearing one after another, all entering the body. Recite Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) for a long time, and when reciting the sound of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), the key is to control the breath. The necessity of this is that the inner solid aggregates of flesh and blood are liberated as (339) being without inherent existence. Second, diligent practice is also divided into two. One is diligent practice of outer appearances: Visualize a dark blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) that is the appropriate size for the object being pierced, and think that it penetrates in and out with just a touch. Then, recite Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) forcefully and briefly, piercing all outer appearances like a sieve, without any obstruction. The sign is that all outer appearances seem empty, clear, and transparent, and the experience of being without inherent existence arises. If this does not happen, repeat the practice. Second, after doing this, all outer appearances become blissful, clear, naturally liberated, and like a rainbow, which is necessary. Second, diligent practice of the inner aggregates: Visualize a dark blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) that is about a span high, penetrating in and out of your body without any obstruction, feeling empty and clear. Then, recite Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) forcefully and briefly. The sign of mastery is
