In the Ornamentation Sutra, it says, "Originally pure and spontaneously accomplished, it is pure in meaning from the beginning." In short, the original ground is empty in essence from the beginning, so it is not formed into things and appearances. Because it opens everything, it is emptiness. It abides in the nature of pervading everything. Its nature is clear as light, transcending the arising of gross and subtle elements. The appearance of body and wisdom is clear, shining, and complete in a naturally beautiful mandala. Great compassion is non-discriminating, transcending the realm of the eight consciousnesses of the alaya. Because it is self-born wisdom, it has knowledge and love. It is the plan for accomplishing various activities. Moreover, its essence is emptiness, so it does not fall into the extreme of permanence. Its nature is clear, so it does not fall into the extreme of annihilation. Great compassion pervades everything, so the three bodies are inseparable. Then, how does such a ground become the plan for all of samsara and nirvana? Just as this one earth (96) becomes the plan for growing various plants? Just as this one mirror becomes the plan for displaying various images? If asked. Then, is all of this established from the beginning as the basis for arising and appearing? Here too, the original ground, in a way that is without limitation and partiality, is naturally accomplished from the beginning as the great plan for all of samsara and nirvana, this is a good answer. Then, who knows such a ground at the beginning of everything? In the Space Clarity, it says, "At the beginning of samsara and nirvana, such self-born wisdom, no one made it, it is self-born." Thus it says. The original ground of these has been explained in detail. Second, how the appearance of self-nature spontaneously accomplished appears from that is shown in two parts: the reality of the way of appearance of spontaneous accomplishment and the example of where wisdom appears in an approximate way. The first is said in the Great Adornment: "I am the indestructible vajra body, there is not even one external object of attachment, in the inner mind moving awareness (97), blown by the wind in the undifferentiated cause, in the non-thinking single-pointed peaceful place, the radiating wisdom is self-born, entering the womb between darkness and light, the method is the father part, the wisdom is the mother, spontaneously born in the realm of emptiness." And in the Root Tantra of Liberation of Attachment, it says, "In the pre-existing unborn and uncreated, the original Buddha light does not change, it abides as the great source of all, the heart essence spontaneously

Alas, luminous body! The essence of the sphere, radiance appears. Radiance essence, three bodies accomplished. Three bodies essence, abides in the Dharmakaya. Father is supreme method, immeasurable. Mother is wisdom, beyond words. I am self-arisen wisdom. Vajra jewel, is my lineage. Emptiness is my mother. Coming from the boundary of darkness and light. The selfless body, appears as the teacher. The lifeless body, appears as the retinue. Self-arisen wisdom, appears as the teaching. Appears in the uncreated mandala. Appears in the time of spontaneous perfection. In the appearance of the essence itself, the body of the essence itself appears. Like oneself and a reflection. The meaning of what was said (98) is: From within the primordial ground, the self-perfected jewel, by the four life-winds transformed into the power of wisdom, and from the slight movement of the compassion-awareness wisdom, when the inner self-nature spontaneously perfected radiance simultaneously appears outward, in the realm of the essence of emptiness, it appears as body and wisdom, from within the spontaneously perfected jewel, brightly appearing, the inner part of the wisdom radiance abides in the outward bright appearance, called the part of the acting compassion appearing outward, although not scattered in conceptual thoughts, yet because it moves from the ground, it is called great awareness. This appearance also appears outward brightly from the primordial abiding state, in between not being mistaken for ignorant sentient beings, it is called the boundary of darkness and light because of appearance. As the "All-Illuminating" says: Initially, the ground appears above, signs appear in the light, arising above, Buddhas and sentient beings abide below, between these two, power is complete, it is said in the intermediate kalpa. Therefore, what must be determined is: Inner bright wisdom spontaneously perfected jewel, from the primordial originally pure (99) great, the power appears outward, is the appearance of self-nature spontaneously perfected, in the manner of the four sessions of meditation appearing in sequence, as the "Self-Arisen" says: Before I existed, the initial ground's abiding state abides thus, called the great originally pure ground, abiding in the three of essence, self-nature, and great compassion. Below that is the abiding state of the spontaneously perfected jewel. Below that is the great ground appearance. Below that is the Sambhogakaya appearance. As it is said. The primordial originally pure great, as previously said, inner bright essence self-nature great compassion single-mindedly
