It is called "Zong." The appearance of the five lights of self-nature is uninterrupted. The appearance of compassion is like a cloudless sky. These are the ways of abiding in the essence of original purity. It is not cut off from India, nor does it fall into any side. Thus it is said. Therefore, the initial original purity is also the wisdom dharmakaya of the essence of emptiness, the wisdom sambhogakaya of self-nature luminosity, the wisdom nirmanakaya of compassionate self-appearance, the wisdom of luminosity and emptiness without discrimination is like the purity of the autumn sky. Secondly, to explain the self-nature in detail, that is (page 76) if the original basis is measured from the aspect of self-nature, it is clear and free from obscuration. Like the image on the clear surface of a mirror, or the lamp in a vase, or the moon in the water. Wherever it appears, its basis will not stop. The external bonds are not broken, and in the non-conceptual pure dharmakaya, the light appears clearly, and the self-nature is emptiness. It does not fall into either permanence or annihilation. Blue, yellow, red, white, and green, etc., the five wisdom lights shine spontaneously and uninterruptedly in the mandala of the five families. Vast, clear, and unchanging, it is an appearance that has never been confused, a wisdom that has never been liberated, and a self-appearing pure dharma nature. From the beginning, it has been luminously and emptily abiding. In Self-Arising it says: Wisdom that is not cut off, spontaneously accomplished Buddha, dharma nature that is free from elaboration, appearance of great purity, view without bias, vast, clear, unchanging, wisdom that does not cease, dharma nature that is not confused, external bonds are not broken, internal five wisdom lights are not extinguished, abiding in the essence of body and (page 77) wisdom. Thus it is said. In "Space Luminosity" it says: Unobstructed power appears in everything, empty and clear awareness and unchanging. Thus it is said. The wisdom of self-nature spontaneously accomplished abides in the self-light of emptiness and luminosity. Thus it is said. However, if one thinks that such an appearance of self-nature luminosity is a permanent, solid, and real thing, it is not so. As mentioned earlier: Because the self-light of luminosity and emptiness does not cease, there is no cutting off or bias. Thus it is said. In Self-Arising it says: The wisdom of self-nature spontaneously accomplished transcends the two extremes of permanence and annihilation. Thus it is said. In Self-Liberation it says: The defilements of the four extremes are self-purified. Therefore, appearance itself is emptiness,

Like a moon in water, not falling to the extreme of annihilation; like a reflection, not falling to the extreme of emptiness; like a rainbow in the sky, appearance and emptiness are non-dual; since all elaborations such as appearance and emptiness are unestablished, like direct perception of the senses, it has been abiding in great inner clarity from the very beginning. Therefore, the primordial spontaneous accomplishment is also: the essence of clarity, primordially empty, is the Dharmakaya; the nature of clarity, appearing in various forms, is the Sambhogakaya; from the aspect of clarity, awareness arises without interruption, is the compassion Nirmanakaya; clarity and emptiness are unchanging, abiding like the clear light of the sun and moon mandala. Third, the extensive explanation of compassion: That primordial ground, if measured from the aspect of compassion, its essence is like the pure autumn sky; in the state of non-conceptual wisdom, its nature manifests as knowing wisdom, like the surface of a clear mirror, in the inner clarity of the ground wisdom, abides the omniscient wisdom possessing five characteristics. That inner clarity, wisdom free from elaboration, is also: its essence is emptiness and unchanging, it is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu; its nature is clarity and the basis of manifestation is uninterrupted, it is the mirror-like wisdom; even in the mere self-appearing body and wisdom, the dualistic clinging dissolves into the Dharmadhatu, it is the wisdom of equality; without mixing with any knowable object, the knowing aspect is clear within, it is the discriminating wisdom; on the basis of the spontaneous accomplishment of the two benefits, it has been abiding from the very beginning, it is the great light of accomplishing activity wisdom. From within that, the outward clarity of awareness, in all-knowing wisdom, the basis of manifestation is uninterrupted, it becomes the basis for the arising of natural force compassion in the realm of sentient beings, symbolizing the close connection between samsara and nirvana. That is to say, if this wisdom does not exist in the primordial ground in the manner of manifestation, then after attaining Buddhahood from the ground, there will be no activity of benefiting sentient beings. If it exists like an external gross manifestation, then like the body of a young vase, the characteristic of the outer shell not being broken, there is no abode of the jewel of wisdom inside, because there is no distinction between inside and outside, everything becomes contradictory to the nature of being inside. Therefore, the inner clarity of awareness, the all-knowing wisdom, the extremely subtle nature does not radiate outward, and because the basis of radiation is uninterrupted, two wisdoms arise.
