The five-colored light is placed in the relics of the Tathagata. These (459) are the signs of attaining the body. Regarding speech, it says in the same text: "The sign of attaining speech is fire, light, and sound." Like a swirling fire, light, and rainbow, standing upright, and a roaring sound. Regarding mind, it says in the same text: "A rainbow, the sky clear and bright, is definitely the sign of attaining mind." Therefore, within the heart, the primordial protector, in five-colored rays of light, as a spontaneously accomplished sign of luminosity, manifests a five-colored rainbow, and as a sign of primordial purity, the sky is clear and bright. So, where did those previous five kinds of relics come from? It says in the same text: "The five kinds of relics arise from this: the head, blood, and spine, the feet and heart are where they arise." Therefore, the flesh relic arises from the head, the water relic arises from the blood, the bone relic arises from the spine, the essence relic arises from the feet, and the aggregate relic arises from the heart. What fruit is attained? It says in the same text: "The fruit of the signs arises thus: flesh relic, water relic, bone relic, attain the unborn qualities of the Sambhogakaya, (460) essence relic, aggregate relic, definitely attain the Nirmanakaya, the five bodies." Therefore, the flesh relic attains the unborn, the water relic increases qualities, the bone relic attains the Sambhogakaya, the essence relic attains the Nirmanakaya, and the aggregate relic attains the five bodies. Thus, seeing all the signs such as light, sound, relics, body, and earthquakes, and being liberated in the bardo, is manifest complete enlightenment. Dissolving into the light body is invisible because these are absent, but because there are no remnants, one attains complete enlightenment on the basis of primordial purity. Therefore, those with remnants who are liberated in the bardo are called manifest complete enlightenment, and likewise, liberation in the pure lands is also included here. Those without remnants who are liberated in this life are called perfect complete enlightenment, and Kuntuzangpo's liberation on the ground is included in this. Second, quoting the scriptures as evidence, in the Mirror of the Heart it says: "Manifest complete enlightenment is when light, sound (461), body, relics, earthquakes, etc. occur. Perfect complete enlightenment is when one attains Buddhahood without any remaining aggregates." Thus. Three
