I am called High and Wide Peak, it dwells as the source of all. These possess five colors, white being clear in its own place and radiating light, similarly yellow, red, green, and blue are also clear in their own place and radiating light. These also do not stick, do not touch, and do not mix, the colors are bright and extremely beautiful and dwell. Thus it is said. At that time, all the arising appearances are held as self-appearances, and by recognizing one's own nature, one is liberated in an instant. Moreover, these appearances of the bardo are the primordial ground previously described, and the spontaneously accomplished appearances arise, so just by recognizing one's own nature, one is liberated into the inner clarity of the primordial ground. Thereafter, the so-called dissolving into the union of luminosity is when the peaceful and wrathful mandala manifests (429), and in the last intermediate state, the way of liberation occurs like seeing the pores of a lion's skin. The first appearance of the sound body is stated in the 'Vast Expanse of Clarity': 'At that time, sound condenses into light, the appearance of the body causes fear.' Thus, at that instant, by the key point of abandoning the body, the spontaneously accomplished mandala of the wrathful Herukas, which was previously described, arises. The large ones are like Mount Meru, the medium ones are like mountains, and the small ones are like mustard seeds, extremely numerous and with various head shapes, holding various weapons, running and striking in the direction where one is going, and the appearance of light weapons striking and piercing appears. From within the light, the natural sound of reality, like the roar of a thousand dragons, emits various unpleasant sounds such as 'Strike! Kill!' and 'Seize!', causing fear with light. One is frightened by sound and rays. Moreover, for those who do not recognize self-appearance, great appearances of demons and Yama arise. These sights, although in terms of location, are only like mustard seeds in the houses of Jambudvipa, yet in the (430) bardo, they appear to pervade the world realm. That itself, by recognizing self-appearance, is liberated in an instant into the body of a Heruka and becomes a Buddha. By the guru's instructions, recognizing one's own nature in the power of self-appearing wisdom, like seeing the pores of a lion's skin, piercing through and recognizing, the luminosity of the mother, the practice of familiarity, and the later arising son, the two luminosities of self-arising son and mother merge, and in self-arising, self-liberation, and self-clarity, one is previously familiar with

Just as meeting with rigpa, self-liberation occurs in self-awareness. If one does not receive the introduction to this, even good people will turn away from here. From the intent of the Heart Essence Instructions, it says: Alas! Lord of Secrets, if you do not meet rigpa now, no matter how much you meditate, you will not attain Buddhahood. Because you have not met the instructions, you are frightened by the light. You are afraid of sounds and echoes. You are afraid of rays. If you do not know the key points of the instructions, because you do not recognize sound, light, and rays, you will wander in samsara. Thus it is said. Then, the very last, like the sprout of a fruit, the ways of gradually arising are liberated into the elements. In the Transcendental Argument it says: (431) In the wind that enters and ripens, the four directions, intermediate directions, above and below are established. There, when the lights of the directions gather, the forms of the five families also clearly appear. Blue, white, yellow, red, and green appear with their respective consorts. From the completion of their respective clusters, there are five-fold, ten-fold, hundred-fold, clusters of thousands and hundreds of thousands, which, by the purity of the nature of thought, are beyond words, and countless appearances arise. Thus it is said. From the continuation of the previous, again, those previous appearances of forms naturally arise, and those forms are neither large nor small, but equal in size. They are complete with ornaments, colors, postures, thrones, and their respective hand gestures. Those forms are also pervaded by pairs of fives, and each of the five aspects is surrounded by a halo of five lights. There are the families that hold the father's aspect, the families that hold the mother's aspect, the bodhisattvas, and the bodhisattva mothers, all dwelling completely in all mandalas. Thus it is said, so for five days, all appearances and existences appear as light and form. (432) That is, on the first day, Vairochana with his consort, Akshobhya in the east, Ratnasambhava in the south, Amitabha in the west, Amoghasiddhi in the north with his consort, the eight bodhisattvas, the eight bodhisattva mothers, and the four gatekeeper parents appear. Similarly, on the second, third, fourth, and fifth days, Akshobhya is surrounded by the five families, appearing as before. Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, and Amoghasiddhi, like before, are surrounded by clusters of mandalas, appearing as five-fold, ten-fold, hundred-fold, thousand-fold, hundred-thousand-fold, and countless-fold, the forms of the five families in the ten directions.
